Bad service will always destroy a potentially good meal.

We arrived on time, went downstairs and waited for someone to sit us. Eventually we set alone since it was more than 5-10 min we've been waiting. Then the staff came to our table and request us to move. We requested to stay at the same table, and it took long time for her to check and decide. Eventually we end up spending 15 min which comes down from our eating time.

Main dishes are more like tapas rather than a normal main dish. If the staff would bother to tell us this when we ordered, we would probably ordered more things or differently.

Order of the meal wasn't time properly. We got the main dish came out first before the starters. They took it to the kitchen and let it sit and wait. They serve us 1/2 starters, then bring our one main dish and then another one. The dish was COLD, that's how we know it stand and waited in the kitchen. We couldn't say anything as the person drop the plates and run away. When we tried to get the attention of the staff, they were just ignoring us. Like they know it's cold and they don't want to do anything about it.

When we finally finish the 2 main dishes, then they bother to serve us the starter we ordered.

Funny enough, same thing exactly happen to the table sitting next to us. I guess their kitchen is not very experienced or know how to time the serving properly. And the staff just avoiding eye contact.

We ordered hot drinks to go WITH our dessert, which came 10 minutes after the dessert. The gave us the drink, then came back and put the bill on the table and run away again. They didn't let us finish our drink or dessert before they drop the bill. A better way to handle the situation if you know the next guest is here is to move us to another area (which was free) and let us finish our meal calmly without having to feel like you are pushing us out. Specially when you take 15 min to sit us, while we show up on time.

You can tell the staff knows they are messing around with the service and your experience, but they just don't care and avoid eye contact at all cost.

The food is not that great, and the portion are practically a bite. (We were 2, we ordered 3 'main dishes', beside starters & desserts and still left hungry) So adding to that a bad service, makes their chain not worth of coming back to.

If we want to eat; we will go eat in a cheaper place. We came here for the experience, which was not good. And after eating in some many places around Europe, I think the reviews here are either fake, either overrated.

There are much better places to eat in while...

A tropical gem with a frosty edge

Bali Voltireta is hands down one of the most beautiful restaurants you’ll find in Valencia. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and meticulously designed – it feels like stepping into a Balinese postcard… while still being ten minutes from your Airbnb. Based on looks alone: a solid 10. When it comes to service? A shaky 5 with a passive-aggressive shrug.

We dined here on Sunday, April 20, during our stay at Villa Seminyak, so expectations were sky-high. Unfortunately, the service staff managed to gently pop that bubble. The waitress in charge was clearly not in the mood – or the profession. Indifferent, inattentive, and seemingly allergic to checking in on guests. Not once were we asked if everything was okay. No offers for extra drinks. Empty plates sat on the table like forgotten souvenirs.

One lowlight: our daughter’s food arrived cold. Not lukewarm – actually cold. When we mentioned it, it was taken back with visible irritation. After a long wait, it came back… lukewarm. Progress, in the loosest possible sense.

Now, the food: the nasi goreng was very flavorful, a bit on the salty side. Butter chicken was well-spiced and tasty, but served disappointingly lukewarm – which kind of defeats the point of comfort food. The sushi was great (granted, it’s supposed to be cold, so that helped). Truffle tortilla was unique and full of flavor – a definite standout.

Then came dessert. The mango dessert was straight out of the freezer – icy crystals and all – served in a rock-solid (non-plastic, but still uninviting) dish. The pineapple didn’t quite live up to the “fresh fruit” promise, tasting a little sour, like it had been waiting around too long.

And yet – we’re giving four stars. Not because everything was perfect, but because the restaurant has so much potential. We’re rooting for it. A bit of warm service to match the warm decor, and this place would be unforgettable.

4 out of 5 stars Stunning spot with excellent food… assuming it arrives hotter than your server’s...

Really disappointing evening here, which seems strange, as the reviews have been generally positive.

Firstly, one of our party wanted the salmon tataki. We were informed that it was not available, so we asked for a couple more minutes to choose an alternative. When the waitress came back, we tried to order the salmon teriyaki. This was also unavailable. This should at least have been told to us when the tataki was not available, and most probably, when we were seated. Bear in mind, there are only 5 main options for main courses (excluding rice bowls), so having 40% unavailable is quite something.

When we finally ordered, 2 of the entrantes were brought out at the same time as one of the mains - katsu curry. The 3rd entrante was not brought until a later time. The 2 remaining main courses were bought about 10 minutes later before clearing the plates the entrantes came on. It was all a little bit messy!

The rice used for the sushi appeared to be the exact same as used for the rice bowls, so was fairly dry and definitely not what we expected.

Price-wise, it was cheap, so not sure should we have been expecting more and the food was “OK”. You get what you pay for, which was sub-standard dining in a sauna (not sure was this intended to imitate Bali). Definitely will not return here, and most likely, to none of their other restaurants either.

Also, service was not good (no I’m not American, it was bad even by Spanish standards). The girl serving us at the start disappeared after about 20 minutes and we were practically left without service after that. We had to ask for the bill (waited 15 minutes), and after waiting some more, had to go up to the bar to pay as there was no sign of anyone coming to us so we could pay.

Needless to say, we got out asap without having desert or ordering more drinks. This may have been a difficult task anyway, as I mentioned already, as the service...

Well… atmosphere and interior design is really great there, but food wasn’t good in our experience… First of all we arrive at the time and on reception stuff ignored us for quite a while discussing something between them.. ok… Spanish hospitality…. then they let us to go downstairs and we had been waiting for around 10 min to be seated along with another guests. There were staff but we’d been told to wait. Not such a good start. We finally sat at the table and placed an order. Food came relatively quick. We got bao buns with chicken nuggets. Bun looked “tired” , it was slim, not puffy. Composition of the filling could have been better: there was just chicken nugget +green leaf and a sauce. It was ok, eatable. Then tuna and ell rolls arrived, without soy sauce (how come?!) Tuna roll was super dry, looks like the rice had seen a lot, felt like it spend days before beeing served. Not pleasant to eat at all. Ell roll was ok. Rice was probably from another bunch. The we got the main: ribs and salmon. Ribs were passable, tender, plenty of sauce but it had like “a crust” of glazed sauce on top. This crust was not crunchy (like it supposed to be) it was like a cupboard, you chew it forever. Salmon: mango salad was a real disappointment, from all variety of Asian cuisine they served just a green leaves and 6 cubes of mango 😅 well done… salmon in teriyaki sauce had tooooo much of sesame seed oil. It was overpowering and at some point it wasn’t pleasant to eat. So, I don’t know, does it worth it? No, Not for me. We spend 77 € for 2 people and for that kind of price and size of portions I would want to eat a good quality meal, not on old leftovers with unbalanced flavour.

The place itself leaves a strong first impression, the interior feels authentic and almost transports you into the middle of a jungle. Sadly, this is where the good part ends. The service was very disappointing. For a long time the waiters simply did not pay attention to us, and we had to wait far too long just to place our order. The menu was confusing, with contradictory names, and when we tried to ask for clarification the waiter was unable to explain and instead responded with “Do you know English? Excuse me!?” which only added to the frustration and left us wondering what language we were expected to use. The food was just as inconsistent. Some dishes were fine, but others were a complete letdown. The chicken bao in particular came with undercooked dough and raw meat, which is not only unpleasant but also unsafe. They didn't give us a sauce boat for the rolls or offer us chopsticks. Throughout the entire meal, there was simply no individual approach to each guest. It would help a lot if the digital menu included photos of the dishes, so guests could better understand what they are ordering. The layout of the space also needs attention, since the tents block visibility and make it difficult for waiters to notice their tables. And finally, tips should not be automatically included in the bill it should be up to the guest to decide whether the service deserves it. Until these issues are addressed, the overall experience remains disappointing and I cannot recommend visiting this place.
