A Cozy Dining Experience at Caramel Pumpkin – Worth the Visit!
Located at the top of Ward Place and Wijerama Road in Colombo, Caramel Pumpkin offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. We visited on Friday, 14th February 2025, for a Valentine's Day dinner as a group of five. Knowing it would be a busy night, we called ahead around 6:45 PM to make a reservation for 7:30-8:00 PM, and luckily, we secured a table. Otherwise, walk-ins are typically accommodated.
Warm Welcome & Cozy Ambience
From the moment we arrived, even the security personnel greeted us warmly, setting the tone for a pleasant evening. We were seated on the ground floor, right next to the cashier counter. The interior had a cozy yet modern feel, perfect for a casual dining experience.
Food & Drinks – A Delightful Spread
For our meal, we ordered: ✔ Beef Burger (served with French fries) ✔ Chicken & Cheese Pasta (with bacon and cheese) ✔ Thai Rice Bowl (served with creamy coconut chicken curry) ✔ Spicy Chicken Rice Bowl ✔ Passion Mojito & Blueberry Mojito ✔ Hot Chocolate ✔ Blueberry Cheesecake for dessert
Beverages arrived within 10 minutes, generously portioned and well-balanced in flavor. The food followed after about 30 minutes, but the wait was enjoyable as they had a game corner with Monopoly and card packs, which kept us entertained.
Flavors That Stand Out
The food was flavorful, and the portions were generous. The Thai Rice Bowl had a rich, creamy coconut chicken curry with a slight sweetness, while the Spicy Chicken Rice Bowl was bold and full of flavor. The Beef Burger was satisfying, with crispy fries on the side. However, my favorite was the Chicken & Cheese Pasta, which was super creamy, with a generous serving of bacon that added a delicious crunch.
Value for Money & Loyalty Program
Our total bill came to around LKR 17,000, which we found reasonable given the portion sizes and quality of the food. They also have a loyalty program, allowing customers to collect and redeem points, which is a nice bonus for frequent visitors.

Read moreExtremely disappointed with the service. We went there for lunch a week ago. Placed the order at the front counter and went upstairs. The place was utter filthy. There were no tables to sit since all the tables were occupied by people (cozy couples 😉) who have decided to bring their computers to get work done while having a coffee 🙄… Anyhow after we managed to find a table to sit I realised that it had not been cleaned. There were dried coffee stains all over. Obviously someone had spilled their coffee and not one had cleaned it up. It had been left to dry …yuk. Finally the food came. I obviously expected the waiter to clean the table before laying off the food. To my horror he just set the dish on the filthy table top. I couldn’t just tolerate this and I just told him to clean the table cos it’s obviously dirty. He just looked at me, didn’t say anything…just took my food and went downstairs. Just like that. Another 10 minutes or so nothing happened. No one came. Then another person shows up with some cleaning spray and a cloth. He cleaned and went off. Another 5 minutes the original dish I ordered came. But the meal that was ordered by my wife didn’t arrive. Waited for another 5 minutes. Nothing. My patience was at the brim. I couldn’t help it. I went downstairs to check. When I approached the counter and asked them for the meal I ordered there was obviously a confusion amoung them. Finally they found my meal which had been lying on the kitchen counter all this time. We just finished our meal and walked out just promising ourselves not to sight this place again. Very disappointed with the service and the attitude of the staff….BTW You guys will be better off putting up a school upstairs rather...
Read moreReview⬇⬇⬇ Food.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . . Here comes the review about a place which has been creating quite a noise on social media. Went down to @caramelpumpkin.lk located in Ward place on a rainy day and we actually loved the cozy ambience. From high chairs to cushioned chairs, wooden benches to bean bags, the place was nicely decorated with wall murals and arty wall frames. They have both indoor and outdoor balcony seating and everything was instagramable worthy. Entering in to that, the premises has made the appearance with @isleofgelato ice cream. Moving on to menu, it was quite interesting and extensive. You can customized your own Pasta and sandwiches. From their "Mamma Mia" menu, we ordered penne pesto roast chicken pasta with oregano (rs. 750), penne arrabiata grilled vegetable pasta (rs.700) and sphagetti carbonara sea food pasta with chilli flakes(rs. 800). All were absolutely delicious and portion size was well enough as well. We ordered Iced latte (rs. 500) which was not so milky and not upto our satisfaction. But their Hot Mocha (rs. 580) was something should really worth trying. For the desserts we went for a "im on a diet - blueberry cheesecake(rs.450)". That was massive and divine. So rich with blueberries on top, creamy cheese and buscuit base. All prices were subject to 10% service charge. . . .
All these items came within 10-15 minutes and the staff was friendly and attentive. To all the pasta lovers out there, do try their pasta menu as it is a perfect combo with cheese and...
