I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Curry Pot restaurant. My friends and I decided to order through Uber Eats, but right from the start, things went downhill. The restaurant changed our order status to "ready to pick up" even though they didn't have the items we had requested. This left us feeling frustrated and confused. To make matters worse, they went through three different delivery persons, causing unnecessary delays and confusion. We patiently waited for over three hours, only to receive poor service and no sign of our meal. It was incredibly frustrating to be left hanging for such a long time, with no proper explanation or apology from the restaurant. The lack of professionalism and communication displayed by Curry Pot was truly disheartening. Finally when we called them they asked us to cancel the order as the ordered items were not available and pay the uber cancelation fee.. As customers, we expect reliable and efficient service, especially when using a reputable delivery platform like Uber Eats. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards of customer service. I would strongly advise against ordering from Curry Pot if you're looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable dining experience. Their poor service and disregard for customer satisfaction left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will be taking my business elsewhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt come here if youāre a tourist, they will scam you!!!!!! Me and my partner came here to eat lunch, they charged us 5000 LKR. I had read in the reviews that it was supposed to be affordable in pricing. In the evening we dined at a fancy hotel, our bill came to 4800. This confused me. I asked the hotel staff about curry pot restaurant and what they charge for lunch and was told 500-600 LKR. When I tell you I was SHOCKED. I wanted to double check so I went on the app PickMe where they deliver food and indeed their lunch is 600 LKR. I went back to the restaurant to speak with them and told them what happened. I was told that we picked extra meat - which we didnāt - and that cost extra. I questioned how extra meat can make the price 5 times as much/ per plate even if it was true and that they scammed us. I was basically told that since I didnāt have the receipt then they couldnāt do anything about it. You are basically a walking wallet for them, and itās despicable. Shame on the owner and shame on the workers. Karma will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHighly local. Highly authentic. Packed at lunch hour, and it ain't tourists lining up here so you know it's good! Cash & credit cards accepted - possibly e-wallet payments as well. Small place with limited seating so be prepared to wait or share a table with someone. No AC but it's across the street from the ocean so there's a good breeze to keep things comfortable. Limited selection of sodas and waters to drink.
A variety of meats (mutton, chicken, fish, beef) & curries over a bed of rice, accompanied by numerous side dish options that range from sweet to spicy and everything in between. Tell them what you want when it's your turn to order and pay at the end.
It's traditional to eat with your hand (right hand) but they do have forks you can ask for. A sink to wash your hands before and after you eat. Flavors are intense and incredible even if you can't identify what it is that you're eating.
If you want to eat traditional Sri Lankan food, come to this place. You...
