Little Cottage — Restaurant in Colombo

I’ve been a regular customer at Little Cottage for quite some time and have even recommended it to many of my friends over the years. Sadly, the experience has gone from warm and welcoming to outright unpleasant.

The food, once something to look forward to, is no longer consistent in taste or quality. My visit today was by far the worst the food was horrible, nothing like what it used to be.

But what really upset me was the way the service has changed. The staff used to be friendly, always greeting customers with a smile. Now, they act like they couldn't care less. Today, the way the waiter asked us to move our vehicle from the car park was extremely rude and disrespectful. It wasn’t even a request it was more like we were being ordered around, despite making a humble request ourselves.

It’s disappointing to see such a beloved place fall so far in terms of service and food. This was my final visit I won’t be returning, and I definitely won’t be recommending Little Cottage to...

Quaint Place. Good Food and Decent Prices. What more can one ask for? What a lovely cute little place. My first experience at this location could be best described as many moments full of wow. Wow! What a lovely simple interior. Wow! Look at the table setting! So simple and elegant with their clay pots and beautiful cutlery. Wow! What great combinations of Sri Lankan and Western Classics they have. Wow! They even have Kiributh for dinner! Wow! The prices seem quite reasonable. Wow! The Egg Hopper with Thai Red Curry looks quite good. Wow! The Thai red curry is equally good as if you are eating at a Thai Restaurant. Wow! Love the way how they bring the bill. It's a lovely place. Tried this place out after finding it on instagram. But won’t recommend.

mutton - Watery and few shredded pieces of mutton.

dhal - Was nice

string hoppers - Old and heated.

string hopper pilaf - Was nice

Coconut Sambol - It was coconut powder of which after the coconut milk was extracted the waste coconut they had made Pol sambol. So bad.

Bloody waiter took my plate while I was eating. I had finished my first serving and then while I was going to serve he took my plate and after he was trying to return the plate asking me to eat and give as if it was some alms giving.

Also the waiters service was so bad he hasn’t left tissues to the customers seated two tables next to us and the customer excused me and asked me for tissues. Feel bad for the owner for having...
