The place looks really good and the service was also good. But the food. What happened in the kitchen that day? I have eaten here before, at lunches, and that has been a good experience. This time I went for a Sunday brunch. 410:- for two small dishes and a dessert buffet. I was expecting so incredibly much more, especially due to the extreme price level. The avocado rye sandwich was really bland, it tasted like regular rye bread and a so so avocado - there were no other flavours there. The sliders were one with really dry shoe sole style minced meat, but the other one was a quite good pulled pork. The pulled pork was unfortunately the best we had. The eggs royale tasted like fat, but nothing else. I never leave food on the plate, but this time it was difficult getting all that grease down. The bowl was alright, like a really small poke bowl, nothing more, nothing less. The desserts, there were plenty. The donuts must have been a few days old, my mouth dried out and I had to leave the other half. The Tiramisu must have been the best, but it was very subpar compared to others I have had. I liked the cinnamon bun thing, that had a nice texture and taste. But most of the other stuff I tried was just a disappointment. No fresh fruits except for some sour green grapes. I normally eat a lot at buffets, but the both of us just did not want more sugar - it was just making us feel sick. I was hoping that I was alone in the disappointment of the brunch, but my company voiced the exact same opinions on the way out. There are many nice places to eat in Gothenburg, but the weekend brunch at Norda is not one of them. Stay away. Sorry, but there is no better way...
Read moreThis simply was unbelievable from start to finish. We were greeted as we arrived by a very helpful and welcoming lady who immediately informed us of a slightly longer wait for food than usual. We were then showed to our seats. Our waitress Linnéa S was out of this world and very friendly constantly checking in with us and explaining the longer wait for food - which we were very understanding and we did not mind one bit due to the atmosphere being so amazing. We also received complimentary bread for the wait time which we are before and after our starter of lobster rolls - these were unbelievable and the flavour was spot on. We then decided to share the rack of veal for a main course and upon ordering again Linnéa explained due to the nature of the dish the wait time would be a longer than usual. We were quite happy to sit and wait as it allowed us to chat and take in the surroundings. When the dish arrived we were given a Caesar salad on the side free of charge again to apologise for the wait time in our opinion this was unnecessary as we did not expect anymore as we were absolutely fine waiting, but the waitresses were doing their upmost to keep the customers happy despite the longer wait times. The veal had unbelievable flavour and tasted impeccable this was by far the best meat I have tasted the chefs are clearly very talented. We visit from London and Linnéa’s service was out of this world and gave us the best service we have ever received in a restaurant, her English was excellent and she was very friendly. She is a credit to Norda and her waitressing skills are second to none. Thank you for an exceptional evening we will recommend and for...
Read moreThis was a shambles. So many problems.
The good:
The restaurant found us a table despite the hotel messing up the reservation. The lamb was tasty. Nice outdoor table setting. The young lady who served us was trying her best.
The bad:
We ordered 3 lobster sandwich starters and a child lobster sandwich main. The starters had negligible lobster content ( essentially ICA skagen röra in a bun ) while our daughter’s lobster sandwich was served with prawns but NO lobster. We complained and they added some ‘skagen röra’. Poor.
We ordered at 745pm and they had already sold out of the steak to share, the most appealing main course.
The main courses arrived about 45-60 mins after we finished our starters.
We ordered extra bread for our daughter and that took 45 minutes to arrive.
The lamb was tasty but served in a thin stock gravy. Needed mash or rice but none was available. Bizarre.
The cod dish was borderline inedible. Overcooked.
The burger mediocre.
The fries were awful. As if someone had ordered McDonald fries, let them go cold and then...
