We set out to try their Saturday brunch buffet. First, the seating was great, it felt spacious and even though you sit near other tables it does not feel cramped. You sit on stuffed chairs, which is very comfortable, and you can sit for a long time. The only place where they have higher chairs was in the bar. The DJ located at the bar played some good tunes, but not too loud so it was easy to have a conversation over the table, without having to scream to each other. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful, they continouosly ensured that we had enough to drink, or anything else that we might have needed. The food was great, it wasn't the largest selection, but everything was really well composed. We received a starter at the table with their own grilled sausage in bread, sprinkled with a horse radish sauce and some dried onion. The buffet had salads, a selection of cheese, potatoes and some cold cuts, then you had the warm food, beef, pork, chicken and a Texas chili. All very well prepared, the beef was medium rare to medium, and then a selection of different sauces, mayonnaise based, and then a red wine sauce, and Bearnaise. The French fries was sprinkled with, what I think was, dill. The dessert tables had chocolate balls, creme the Catalan, home made apple pie and a lot more. The whole experience was delicious, and greatly appreciated. We will...
Read moreThe food was delicious! I was overjoyed to have a perfectly prepared 1/2 Farm Chicken. It has been difficult to find chicken breast while in Stockholm and this made up for any lack in the city. It was so good I thought of going back today! The haricot verts were delicious and my friend really enjoyed her mushroom risotto. The miso carrots I wouldn’t order again. Too much miso with no real direction of other tastes. The corn was too spicy for my friend (I don’t eat corn). The fries were thoroughly enjoyed by my friend’s daughter. I gave the food 5 ⭐️’s because everything that was good was amazing! And memorable.
The service was very slow and the waiter who ended up serving us seemed annoyed with my onion allergy (I can’t help it 🙄 and I too wish I didn’t have this allergy). Most people I have encountered while abroad have been very understanding and kind, so this was a disappointment. He did seem to “come around” a bit but I will just say I have regularly had far better.
The drinks were outstanding the bartender was very kind and quick to bring us our drinks. I had the tajin margarita without the tajin 😊 and it was SO yummy. My friend had a gin and tonic and said it was solid.
The ambiance is really nice and well thought out. I love the entrance! I would definitely go back just to have that...
Read moreGriffin’s Steakhouse has a lovely atmosphere and decent service, but if you're here for the steak, you might want to bring a thermometer, a survival kit, and a snack—because you’ll be waiting a while.
We ordered the mixed grill plate, and after an hour of watching other tables get their food, we started to wonder if they were out back raising the cow from birth. When our food finally arrived, it became clear why it took so long—they must have been arguing in the kitchen about how to cook it. The entrecôte came out medium-well, the sirloin was medium, and the tenderloin was practically still grazing in a field somewhere. It was like each piece of meat had its own personal journey, and none of them ended where they were supposed to.
For the price, I expected a well-executed meal, not a steakhouse version of a waiting room followed by a game of “Guess the Doneness.” The service was friendly but unremarkable—polite smiles didn’t make up for the fact that by the time our food arrived, we were considering eating the table bread basket, plate, and possibly the menu.
If you enjoy long waits, inconsistent steaks, and a bill that makes you question your financial priorities, Griffin’s is the place for you. Otherwise, bring a snack and lower your...
