Weidao — Restaurant in Stockholm

We wanted to dine in Weidao during our short trip in Stockholm and we where really surprised by such a terrible experience from a restaurant with such a high rating.

Extremely rude and bad service

At first when we arrived I asked the staff if there is any table available and got the response that no since we did not have any reservation I asked the waitress if there are any tables at a later time where I got the response that they are fully booked for the evening. So we decided to order food for takeaway. While we waited for the food in the restaurant a couple of other drop in guests arrived and where told that the restaurant is fully booked for now but they would have a table for drop in guests in 1 hour so the waiter that met us in the door lied straight into our faces.

When we went to the register to pay for our takeaway we wanted to pay with cash I handed over the 500sek bill to the waitress and I have must looked like a villain since she took the 500 sek bill and checked it in the light to see if it was fake or not straight before my face such rudeness was not expected by such a high rated restaurant. I felt very offended by this, so in response I did the same when receiving my change.

Food bland and tasteless We ordered 2 Pad thai one with chicken and one with shrimp. The shrimp tasted like they had been cooked for 3 days they where dry and looked disgusting fortunately there where no health issues after the shrimp Pad thai. The chicken was dry and tasteless and in my honest opinion the price for the food and the location better quality should be expected.

This restaurant presented a few different red flags so I would recommend to stay away. First I ordered a ginger beer and they brought me a lemonade by mistake. When they realized their mistake they simply put the cap back on the lemonade and back on the fridge to probably serve it to another customer later. The bibimbap came in a completely cold dish and the rice itself was super cold. The spring rolls are not freshly made and frozen premade rolls that are probably just warmed up. And there was almost zero service during the entire time we dined there and we kept having to constantly call a waiter over for help. And overall the dishes all lacked flavour. Weidao offers a delightful blend of Asian flavors that left me impressed. I tried the Red Thai Curry Chicken, which was rich and perfectly spiced, paired with fluffy rice that balanced the heat. The Prawn Tempura Sushi was fresh and crispy, with a satisfying crunch that complemented the tender prawn. The Chicken Karaage was a standout – crispy on the outside and juicy inside, bursting with flavor in every bite. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted authentic, making it a great spot for anyone craving quality Asian cuisine. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was quick and attentive.
