Vapiano Vasagatan, Central Station — Restaurant in Stockholm

Update! I'm a frequent visitor at Vapiano and I must say the food quality and the service has continuously become worse as the time passes. At the beginning at Vapiano many years ago the food was wonderful and good quality. They prepared the meal in front of you and the queue could become quite long but it was worth it because the food was so good and fresh. Then they started to change and you can now order on their web app, which was convenient but they also removed some of the dishes I really liked and the service has become rushed. The food was still good but not like before. My last visit which was yesterday. It was one of the worst meal experiences I've ever had! I ordered the chicken sallad and it was basically 1/4 of an avocado, a few small pieces of dry chicken, some microsallad and maybe one small piece of tomato. I could hardly taste the sallad dressing that supposed to be blended in. Not only it wasn't a sufficient meal like their sallads used to be, this was also poorly washed! I kept getting sand between my teeth when I was eating! Disgusting! I told the server and they did nothing about it. I will never visit any Vapiano ever again!

Below was posted in the spring of 2024 I like the food here but I always feel rushed because they want to remove the plates as soon as you are done and sometimes even before. There are just a few comfortable seating the rest either don't have any back support or quite uncomfortable.

This place surely bring great food on the table, its a tad bit expensive, as expected concidering the food they do offer.

The way you buy food here is rather unique. You go to the entrance cashier, get a card that will later be used in the second cashier situated deeper into the building. You'll decide what to order from there.

After ordering then its as regular, you get an alarm brick that will vibrate when food is ready, you leave it to the kitchen and they give you the meal. The service here is quite average, they don't deliver orders to the table nor drinks, you have to do that yourself.

The restaurant is also pretty clean, with quite a modern style to it. It's also pretty cozy and mild noise from other people having conversations. I didn't notice any noise outside either which is good.

The food however, is delicious. Great pizza, pasta and such. They really do know how to cook. The drink is overpriced, as expected from a restaurant.

After finishing your meal, you'll pay the bill back at the entrance cashier by handing over the card you received.

My conclusion is that this restaurant is a worthy place to visit, it do lack some service and have a little too expensive prices on drinks, but other than that I do approve...

Great chair for the baby and room for us all. That's where the positives stop.

I can say that it was the worst pasta I've had in my life and paying for any of our food felt super sad.

My wife had the gluten free truffle carbonara to start with together with my friend that had the same dish but not gluten free.

My wife's pasta was extremely spicy (carbonara should not be spicy) and other than that it was completely dry no sauce. It was less than one piece of bacon on top and that's it. Underneath the pasta there was some watery super spicy substance. My friends pasta looked better but tasted just as bad as mine. My prawn pasta was super spicy too and the actual pasta tasted overcooked and undercooked at the same time how that is possible... Maybe too much pasta boiled together in bad water? I don't know. Ecgremely stodgy. It was such a disappointing meal and the service was one of the worst experiences we've had. They made me feel really bad for complaining about the dish. I mean look at the picture of the gluten free pasta? They changed in the end but my wife had 3 mouthfuls of the new dish and it was equally as bad. What a sad...
