Staff was very friendly and helpful. Interior is pretty nice, I like it. The free refill of chips is nice.
The guacamole came out in a traditional grinder bowl, but it was most likely only for show. The guac had a good flavor, but felt like it was a cream pressed out of a bag. The bowl was warm, very strange, and warmed up our guac. Displeasing.
The esquites was one of the strangest ways I have ever seen them done. Pale broken corn sitting in a pool of liquid. Giving the benefit of doubt I tried a scoop, but they had zero flavor. We left the plate on the table without eating them.
The Baja fish taco was really good. The ribeye tacos (I think?) were barely warm. It felt like they had been sitting somewhere for a bit. Good flavor tho.
I have had wonderful Mexican food in Mexico, Los Angeles and Stockholm. This was not it unfortunately. I was really hoping this place would be good, especially with such a good menu on paper. Hoping it will...
Read moreWe went to celebrate a birthday and brought our own cake, as there was no birthday-style dessert on the menu. A lady, who seemed to be the manager, informed us there would be a charge of 95 kr per person just to serve the cake. She initially said the fee would be equivalent to a dessert from the menu per person, which we found quite unusual—I've never encountered this kind of charge at any other restaurant in Stockholm.
Since we were already seated and didn’t want to ruin the surprise for the birthday person, we decided to stay, although we expressed our concern about the high fee. In the end, she reduced it to 50 kr per person (200 kr in total).
Unfortunately, this left us disappointed. While the restaurant may be ok for dining, I wouldn’t recommend it for birthday or any kind of celebrations if you plan to bring your own cake—it ends up being...
Read moreMxco has by far the best al pastor in stockholm right now. I’ve been there a couple of times now since it opened, and was surprised that all the other dishes keep the same high standard over time. The tortillas are on point, the pork is delicious (i sometimes think pork tastes and smells horrible for some reason, but not here) and the ceviche dishes feel really fresh. The tables are rather small, the dishes are fairly small and usually come in one by one, kind of like a omakase sushi restaurant. That allows you to taste several different dishes, very nice. The Diablo Tamarindo drink also impressed me. Worked perfectly with the food, which was unexpected to me. And the staff have been very helpful and nice. This restaurant has a...
