Umami Grill Stockholm — Restaurant in Stockholm

A very colorful venue intending to make visitors to think of the Brazilian rainforest. The restaurant is large with well-designed furniture.

The salad bar (salad buffet) was very good. There were different vegetables (grilled or marinated) and three kinds of cheese.

I was very disappointed with the Caipirinha I ordered. The drink had no character and didn't taste at all like a Caipirinha should. When one of the staff came to our table and asked if everything had been good, I told him that I was not happy with my Caipirinha. But he laughed and said that I will get a better drink on my next visit.

Anyway, the meat round was poorly managed and it was clear that the staff lacked adequate training. Sometimes they didn’t even listen if I asked for more meat. The quality of the grilled meat was quite mixed. Some parts of the grilled meat were raw while some parts were completely dry and tasteless.

The dessert buffet was merely decorative and not at all satisfying in terms of taste (except fruit).

The general service level is low, and the arrogance level quite high.

My visit to Restaurant Umami was a delightful experience. The atmosphere at Umami Grill Stockholm is truly inviting, but be sure to plan ahead as reservations are best made three weeks in advance. We celebrated a birthday with a party of five and chose the meat buffet, which also included mussels.

The quality of the meat was exceptional, served tableside by attentive waitstaff. The unique traffic light system allowed us to control the pace of our meal, signaling when we were ready for more or needed a break.

In addition to the meat selection, there was a buffet offering various accompaniments. While I enjoyed the potatoes and eggplant, other options were average at best.

Desserts left much to be desired, lacking in variety and quality. When I saw the chocolate fountain, I couldn't help but wish they had some churros. I hope they consider adding them to the dessert buffet in the future.

Service was excellent despite some hiccups with their booking system, resulting in a short wait for our table.

Overall, our experience was enjoyable, and I look forward to returning...

A very sad review to write since i was very looking forward to it, the service was basically non existent, we had to wait over 25 minutes to get a table even though we had booked, during our 2 hour sitting.

The first one and half hour we got only four types of meat which meant that we got burnt meat every 30 minutes, during the final 30 min of our sitting there suddenly came a rush of meat, but often given very small portions and ofcourse never came back. I was looking forward to the grilled pineapple which finally came after asking but i got two sad pineapple core slices.

They also had no idea what was gluten free and had no signs which made it hard to know what one could eat, and ofcourse no staff to ask since they either where too busy or had no idea what gluten was.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a vibrant seating ,but the lack of service, speed of the barbeque, and lack of communication made a fun event to...
