We were a bit lost, strolling the charming streets of Basel on a quiet Sunday afternoon, looking for a place to have lunch. That’s when we stumbled upon this little gem. The dish of the day was Quiche Lorraine with salad, and we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a fantastic choice—the quiche was delicious, perfectly baked, and the salad was a real highlight, featuring a tasty mix of lentils and beetroot.
On a hot day, the cold beer and homemade tea were just what we needed. The atmosphere was lovely too; we sat out on the terrace and ended up chatting with other people enjoying their brunch. For dessert, we had a slice of cheesecake that was simply exceptional.

The reception on entry was amazing and we were offered the option of lunching on the terrace overlooking the river (incredible). We had the quiche Lorraine and salad both of which were sublime, and washed down with a cooling ice-tea followed by a blonde beer. Small place with tiny area to prepare food (just a sink and a microwave), so food choice is very basic for a brunch: eggs only come hard boiled (and cold from fridge), only one choice of jam (bad luck if you don’t like strawberry jam), one type of viennoiseries and the croissant was mediocre.
