We visited this restaurant as a family of eight with small children and a pregnant woman. The lady came over and poured lighter fluid on the fondue that was already lit! This exploded! My son had a high neck gilet on luckily but it burnt through the padding, my pregnant daughters coast also burnt and whilst checking everyone else was ok my leg was on fire! Burnt through my trousers and on a day trip so had the rest of the long day burnt with a hole in trousers my 8 year old son was so traumatised he had to be taken away by my elder daughter and was told it would be dealt with. I was given an email address and had a reply then nothing they have not reimbursed any losses and refused to give insurance details even after several times of asking. Do not visit!...

Had one of the worst experiences at a restaurant ever.

1. We have waited more than 1 hour and a half to get served 2 ) After all that time one of the dish was wrong and one (salmon with butter and toast paid 34chf) came without toast 3 ) We needed to explain multiple times to the waiters what was wrong with the dishes because they couldn’t understand 4 ) Waiters were rude, slow and we were even confused by who the waiters were because they often sit at some tables where they had friends to drink with them 5 ) Bill was obviously wrong and included the dish that we didn’t order (we had to wait for the bill as well) 6 ) Food was very very basic and terrible...

I had an hour or two to spare in Basel and this passed the eye test. Nice little space outside with some nice architecture and a good atmosphere.

Service was rather odd, different person everytime and they first gave me somebody else's food and then mine wasn't quite what I had ordered. I think my beer was wrong too. The side portion of chips was ludicrous for one person at lunch time and then the older woman gave me a hard time for not finishing it.

I would perhaps suggest going here for a drink, rather than food. It's genuinely a nice spot to ppl watch and a lovely little outside...
