I had booked F.P. Journe for dinner last night as someone interested in both watches and cuisine. Having read the review, I was extremely excited for my visit. Unfortunately, the meal and service left a few things to be desired. This was just my experience, and unfortunately, one too many things to overlook as I usually do not write reviews, good or bad.
My water was initially poured, and then never refilled again for the remainder of the meal. Solo diner, multiple waiters looking to see if I’m okay, and not once was my glass refilled when empty.
The fish/caviar course was originally presented one way (with the fish above the foam and caviar sitting on top), but was set down awkwardly and the dish fell over. Waiter went to get a new plate, which is totally okay. However, the dish was then presented entirely differently visually. The fish was now sitting below the foam. Was this dish remade, or did they simply “fix” my existing dish.
The bread course was brought to my table was I was in the restroom. Again, not a huge deal but I’m solo and it would’ve been easy to wait 60 seconds till I sat back down and it could have been presented to me.

We planned on getting the fish option but we were told they ran out, but the restaurant manager (Pascal, you're the best) went out of his way and offered us the same dish with a different type of fish + extra apps and desserts. We were truly amazed by the service offered by the establishment. Not to mention that all the staff were all wearing a "restaurant only" FPJ Elegante, which was a super nice touch.
At the end of the service, Chef Dominique personally went to each of the tables to talk to...

Pascal Brault's team provided excellent service, and Dominique Gauthier's culinary creations were delicious. The wine and food pairings were perfect, and the Château Seguin FP Journe edition is a must-try for Bordeaux lovers.
The history of mechanics in the cutlery and watchmakers' names on the tables added a unique touch. I've recommended this place to all my friends and fellow watch collectors. An exceptional dining experience that perfectly complemented my visit to the FP...
