We stumbled upon Madras Jungle while looking for a comforting meal during our trip, and it turned out to be the best discovery in Interlaken. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such warmth. The service is beyond excellent; the staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and make you feel like you're a guest in their own home. The food is the real star here. It was so authentic and flavourful, it genuinely reminded me of delicious home-cooked food. Every dish was prepared with care and tasted absolutely perfect. And the prices? For Switzerland, they are unbelievably reasonable! It's so refreshing to find a place that offers such high-quality, soulful food at such a cheap and good price. It’s truly excellent value for money. If you are in Interlaken and craving authentic Indian food (different cuisines ) that warms your soul, you absolutely must visit Madras Jungle. A welcoming place for everyone—families, couples, and solo travelers alike. We will...
Read moreBefore I talk about the food, please know the managers lack integrity. They charged us 3 chf for 2 glasses of water, saying they don’t have tap water when we asked for it. When I asked them about it, our server avoided eye contact and kept saying “this is a European system” - I told him we just came from luzern and Zürich, and nowhere were we charged for tap water. Then he goes, “I’ve lived in Italy for 14 years, they always charge for tap water” like LOL they do not, and again, we’re in Switzerland and I’m asking about your restaurant. And of course, this is after them stating they don’t have tap water. Food is delicious, but you ruin the whole reputation and vibe of your restaurant with a dishonest money grab of this sorts. Especially when prices are already extremely high, and you can’t even give your customers an honest answer. Despite the tasty food, shady behavior and dishonesty leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, so please stop cheating...
Read moreMadras Jungle is a home away from home for vegetarians / vegans. It’s an only vegetarian restaurant. The unique thing about it is the quality of food. We tried the dosas which were superlative. Surprised, we ordered more! The quality of sambhar and churneys and podi is very good. Next day we returned for Indian food. The paneer dishes are a must try…. the paneer ( cottage cheese) was the best that we had while abroad. It is super soft and fresh. The naan we had requested for crisp was served as asked. They are happy to serve with a smile and don’t cringe on refills. The service to us by Mr Pradeep was top- class. Another thing which caught my attention is the shiny copper cutlery and crockery they use. A touch of India, which made us feel good. I hope they open more branches in Switzerland for vegetarians like us. Highly recommend the place. Hope they retain their top standards in food and service when I...
