Overpriced and Underwhelming I gave Five Guys another shot after a disappointing visit three years ago, and I regret it. If anything, things have only gotten worse. I paid 99 CHF for two hamburgers, one hot dog, and three drinks—as much as I’d spend in a sit-down restaurant where they actually serve you at the table and clean up afterward. For a fast-food joint with self-service, the pricing is completely unjustifiable. McDonald's costs a third of this and still manages to offer table service. No proper trays, just paper bags that don’t do their job. If it’s meant to be an eco-friendly choice, it fails because they don’t even let customers separate waste into different materials. My fries were dumped haphazardly into the bag (see photo), making for an oily, unappetizing mess. After two tries, I’m officially done with this place. Terrible value, no service, and a chaotic eating experience. Their restaurant is full of signs in which they compliment themselves, and of newspaper articles talking about who they are (in America). Perhaps they should focus more on how they actually are doing here. If you’re thinking of going, consider to save some money and eat somewhere else.

Exorbitant expensive Five Guys, Lausanne I recently visited Five Guys in Lausanne on a Sunday afternoon with my granddaughter, excited for a hamburger. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, especially regarding value for money. We ordered a small hamburger, two small fries, and a cola, which came to a staggering 36 CHF. When compared to American standards or even other fast-food chains like McDonald's and Burger King, this price seems exorbitant. On a positive note, the fries were truly original and delicious, showcasing the quality that Five Guys is known for. However, even with this standout item, it doesn’t justify the high price. Additionally, I completely forgot that Five Guys doesn’t offer chicken or fish, which means it’s not a great option for vegetarians or those who prefer a more varied menu. This could be a significant drawback for people looking for alternatives. In conclusion, while Five Guys offers good food and fantastic fries, the prices in Lausanne are shockingly high compared to similar establishments. I may reconsider my options on my next visit.

We went to this Five Guys on the 6th of September, and I did not like this fast-food. At 7pm the milkshake machine was already broken; I couldn’t have one. It’s unlucky because I heard good things about their milkshakes The place was empty when we arrived, but we still had to wait a good amount of time to receive our order. I can’t imagine what it would have been if there were a lot of people. When the meal is ready, one has to either wait, standing up around the entrance at the right time (when the waiting time is long it is a problem), or hear the staff screaming the order number (in French). In other fast foods, there are signs, buzzers, waiters who bring you your order, but not here. And for this price it is shocking. Our meal was literally thrown in a greasy paper bag. I add a picture of our order, which costed 60 chf (so around 60 $) for two people (drinks are not on the picture). By the way I knew that it was expensive when I decided to come here. Burgers are wrapped in aluminium, fries in cups, and the whole is drowning under more fried thrown in our bag. We are not animals; we eat in at least some kind of containers. Another picture shows fries that are left in our bag after we ate, it doesn’t look appealing. The burgers were tasty, and it is cool to select what you want in it. But in Lausanne it is easy to find fast foods that are more hygienic, faster, more pleasant, and less expensive.

We just had a cheesburger and a vegetarian sandwich.

here are the facts:

The person taking our order was nice and patient for someone who was eating there for the first time

the cheeseburger was somewhat good, similar to what McDonalds offers for their version of the cheeseburger.

Nevertheless, continue to read now why I only rate this experience with 1 star (would actually like to rate it 0 stars).

we ordered to eat in, the food was served in a paper bag - take away style

there is only 1 toilet for both, women and men - did not think this was something we can do in Switzerland today as a restaurant..

overall interior does not really look inviting to stay there to be honest

the vegetarian sandwich was more of a discounter sandwich we can buy for a few bucks, not the experience one would expect.

last but not least, we paid more than 37CHF for a cheeseburger (18.-, burger only!!!). Medium fries were at 7.50, quality so so.

In short, this is the first and last time we ate at Five Guys Lausanne, or Five Guys in general. This was a disappointing experience, unfortunately. Luckily, we have better choices in Lausanne such as Holy Cow or Zoo Burger, where value for money definitely are in a better equilibrium.

And one more comment for the City of Lausanne: I am very astonished how the city can give away such prime locations to places of such low quality (by the way, not the only place the city has failed in this sense). This nice and central corner definitely has some merit to host a more worthy shop or restaurant. Unfortunately, the city has so many fabulous sites which are simply not managed nicely... Please consider this as a friendly input on how this city could...

Today I had a situation that happened to me, I was with my friends we ordered at 9:50 pm. We were waiting for our food as soon as it turned 10 pm which is the closing time my friends were just getting their drinks because they just received their order the assistant manager of the place started screaming at us to wait outside which we replied we are waiting for our friends to get their drinks and we will all leave together, the guy came barging into our faces while screaming claiming he is the assistant manager while raising his voice. I am sorry but what kind of customer treatment is this, I do understand that you might be stressed or you want to close and leave after a long day but a chain as big as this one should emphasize the treatment of their customers. How can he speak to us while raising his voice while kicking us out. We absolutely did nothing but stand still and wait next to the door for our friends. I hope this issue gets solved with that guy, not just because 10 pm came and your shift is done you can do whatever you want. You should still respect the customer this is completely unacceptable for a chain as big as this one, teach your staff some respect please, he could have easily asked nicely and we...
