EDITED REVIEW (FEB 10) My original review below was an exceptional experience with 5* food & experience. My 2nd time here - not quite the same experience - it didnt feel right to mislead with my original 5* review which may have been a 1 time. Perhaps it was the late service. But the food came out 'almost' cold, including the Cote de Beouf (and we are very fast eaters, sometime too fast so it wasn't an issue of letting the food go cold). The waiters are very friendly and welcoming - but you can be left waiting for ages which is incredibly frustrating. For the price, the Entrecote was a better experience than the sharing and much more expensive, Cote de Beouf. I am not sure for the price, and my experience this 2nd time, if I will be so excited to come back anytime soon. That being said - it is still much better than most restaurants in lausanne - but at the price tag, I would expect a little more attentive service.
REVIEW 1 (JAN 8) First time dining here, for my partner's birthday. Not a huge fan of restaurant/dining quality in Switzerland, so we kept our expectations safe.
Great surprise and exceptional service. The tall blonde woman and the super cool guy with the glasses (clearly didn't get their names), really made the experience. Very helpful, attentive, professional, funny and friendly. Considering there was a domestic situation with a couple on another table - even though entertaining but also very disturbing - the staff were discreet. Next time such behaviour should be immediately thrown out of the restaurant.
Yes it's expensive but it's a treat and correct for the quality. The potato puree exceptional. The deserts really nice just missing a chocolate fondant option for this type of eatery.
The finale was the digestive offering for the birthday celebration - the fact he had a glass with us was really cool, engaging, interacting. For this reason and these 2 staff member I would come back again (and of course the food was good!)

Read moreI went to this restaurant with fairly high expectations. Some of which were met, others less so. The big winner was the atmosphere. Nice and cozy, and not too loud, even though it was nearly full (a testament to the acoustic design). The service was fast and efficient when ordering drinks and food, but getting the check was something else. It took us over half an hour and multiple tries to get attention to finally get it, although there were up to 3 waiters in our area (sometime all three at the same table). Regarding the food, we ordered a Macka's Filet and a Wagyu Omi Gyu A5 Burger. The Macka's Filet was very tender, well cooked, grilled on the outside and red in the middle, very pleasing to eat, but the taste, although very good, did not differentiate itself from a traditional filet. The side dish was very small, making this meal overall lack luster in term of quantity. Same can be said for the burger, very tasty, but overall, small. I could see an improvement by proposing different size (quantity of meat) for the burger, because, unlike the other dishes, not much is given about it on the menu (e.g. nothing about the quantity of meat is said).
So the main issue I have with this place is that the main courses we ordered, despite their prices (as an example the price is 48chf for ~10cm radius burger), have an under average quantity of food. It felt like 20-30% of what you would expect was missing. This is most likely due to the lackluster side dishes. Had we know, we would have ordered appetizers.
Will we come back? It's unknown at the moment. It felt like if the goal is just to come and have a good meat based meal, then there are plenty of other places in Lausanne where you can eat similar food in greater quantities for similar prices. However, this might be different regarding the menu, maybe this is where this restaurant differentiates itself, and if we had to come back this is what we would be looking for.
PS: proposing a regular coulant...
Read moreI had been eagerly waiting for months to try this restaurant, and when a business lunch opportunity finally came, we booked with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was a disappointment on multiple fronts, starting with the service. Most of the staff seemed unhappy to be there, creating a noticeably negative atmosphere. While a young waiter took our drink order promptly, it took over 20 minutes just to place our food order. By the time we received our appetizers, nearly an hour had passed since we arrived.
We decided to order the "800gr Côte de boeuf menu" for two, priced at a steep CHF 216. When it finally arrived, we were served a T-Bone steak instead. The waiter tried to brush this off with a casual explanation, suggesting it was "the same thing." Worse, the meat was severely overcooked and tough. We were also disappointed by the side dishes: advertised as two separate sides, we received a single, inconveniently small bucket of each. To top it off, my colleague found a 5mm rock in the "Caponata." When we mentioned this to the waiter, he blamed their vegetable supplier, adding that while they prepare them "fresh," they don’t "grow" the produce themselves. A bizarre excuse, especially considering that if prepared carefully, rocks should be detected.
After the fiasco with the Côte de boeuf, they brought us a much smaller Rib-Eye steak (barely 400 grams), which was decently cooked but didn’t make up for the long wait and poor quality. On the bill, they covered the cost of drinks (2 beers, 3 glasses of wine, 2 coffees, and water), yet they still charged the full CHF 216 for the meat, even though we had only half of what we ordered.
The service here is simply terrible—our waiter was unprofessional and seemed inattentive to our needs. For a restaurant with such high prices, I expected much better. Sadly, this place is overrated, and I won't...
