No wonder my sister and her friends have loved this place since long ago, a bit tucked-away but definitely filled with warmth and wonders: the choices, the taste, the speed, the friendly atmosphere, but most especially the kind and funny Filipino gentleman who single-handedly manned the restaurant.
We ordered: #17 Sweet and sour chicken - somehow smokey, crispy outside tender inside, a sweet and tangy perfection, easily one of the best sweet and sour dishes I have had. Like other main items on the menu, it came with a bowl of steamed rice and a refreshing side salad.
#75 Karubi Ramen: zesty spicy, a hearty bowl of comforting goodness with plenty of veggies.
#7 Cantonese fried rice: an entree but generous in size, might came across as plain but subtly delicious.
They have abundant ice cubes for water and other beverages, most notably was their impressive choices of unusual tea bags
Kudos and thank you...

I am far from being a special of Asian gastronomy, but I appreciated my lunch in the Ma Jong. I did not know what to order, so I went for spicy beef ramens. It was difficult to choose because I do not know Asian cuisine, so I needed to ask to the staff to understand what will be in my dish. But the staff answered gladly to my questions. It is a fast food, and my lunch was ready after some minutes, it is a nice surprise after seeing the quantity of dishes that they offer. On the meal-tray they give chopsticks and classic cutlery, therefore, everyone can eat without problems! Regarding the food it was tasty. Portions seem to be generous for most of the dishes and they look appealing. Nevertheless, I would have liked to get a bit more meat and a bit less of juice (cf. picture). The meal costed a bit less than 20chf so I think it would have been possible, but still, I ate one’s fill. I end my review on an important technical detail, all bank cards are not accepted there, if you only have a mastercard you will need to withdraw money...
Read moreI have no idea how this place has 4 stars with such atrocious food at unreasonably high prices. I ordered a Shoyu Ramen (18 francs), a plate of shrimp dimsums (6.5 francs), and a bottle of Goji berry grean tea (4.5 francs).
The shoyu ramen tasted nothing like actual shoyu ramen. Instant noodles, horrible broath, chashu that is just dumped into the soup and pork supplements as dry as the Sahara desert, cold tofu straight out from the fridge, random beans in ramen, the egg was not even soft-boiled, and all of this for 18 francs. You would get a much better meal from 2-francs instant noodles.
The dimsums weren't even hot and tasted absolutely disgusting. Literally...
