I went to have dinner alone at the restaurant, and ordered a green curry from the vegetarian dishes page. When the dish arrived, I immediately perceived the smell of fish sauce. When I asked the waitress if there was fish sauce in it, IN A VEGETARIAN DISH, she was confused and had to go to the kitchen to verify, and yes, she replied that unfortunately most of the dishes marked as vegetarian in the menu are not really vegetarian which is misleading and even dangerous for people with allergies. They offered me to change my dish for a stir fried rice. Was definitely not the dish I was craving but once seated and ready to have dinner I didn’t have more choice than accept it. However the other waiter was super friendly and apologetic. He apologized for the event and told me he will escalated this to the kitchen and management. My pice of advice for readers of this review: if you have any allergy or intolerance, don’t trust the menu and ask explicitly to the waiter/waitress to confirm with the kitchen staff, because the menu is completely misleading and full of mistakes that do not consider the seriousness of food restrictions. Besides this event, the service was good and fast, but the fried rice was average and a bit tasteless. Overall, unfortunately a really bad experience for a...
Read moreI ate here twice while I was a guest of the hotel. The Tom Kha Gai Soup was good, though quite salty especially the second time I had it. The Pad Thai was also quite good. But tonight I had a vegetarian dish with thai basil, which appeared to consist only of some fried Asia vegetables you can buy frozen ready-to-cook, some slices of tofu, and a few leaves of Thai basil in a bland thin sauce. I ate a third of the plate and could not continue as I had lost all appetite. In fact I told the waiter that I was disappointed by the dish, he mumbled some apology but showed no further interest. I paid (full price) and left, but now I feel like I was ripped off. Sorry, but bad experiences like this one unfortunately stick, even if a few other dishes had been good, and will make me avoid this place even if I come back to stay...
Read moreI have been here many times in the past past and had great experiences before. But last night I made a special request as I was on a special diet. I thought being in a nice restaurant within a nice hotel it would be possible. They told me it was not a problem to accommodate me, but midway through the food I see all the ingredients I requested not to have were there. Today I am paying for it. Additionally we asked for tap water and the waiter came with a water bottle that he opened without askig, to be charged $8 for it. Really bad experience this time, so if it works like this you have a 1 in 5 chances of having a really bad dinner. Not good...
