I am not one who makes comments or reviews about places i’ve been to but i will make this one an exemption, so people may know. I visited this pub in Lucerne on April 15 around 9:30 PM. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, with a lot of people there watching the football match. I ordered fish and chips and asked the bartender (male, bald, strong build, dark-skinned) for a beer recommendation since it was my first time visiting. He suggested a beer that I ended up really liking, and the food was also good. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by the same bartender on how I was treated. When I didn’t respond right away to something he said—because English isn’t my first language and it was hard to hear clearly with the crowd—he suddenly shouted “Good morning!” in my face in a loud and mocking way. A lot of people nearby heard it, and I felt extremely embarrassed. To make things worse, he then made some negative comments about me to another customer standing right next to me. I felt really ashamed and uncomfortable, which ruined what could’ve been a great evening.

Came here for the Big Ben burger. Two beef patties, cheese, bacon, egg and onion rings. Of course I ordered a beer with it. You've got to balance out the grease. This place is a little different as there is no table service. You have to order at the bar and they will bring to your table. In the US, this wouldn't fly because the bar is always crowded. There are only two or four bar seats at this bar and the rest is open. They are very friendly and accommodating here. It has a pretty open floor plan so it's easy to get around without having to weave through hordes of people. They didn't try to cram in more seats to have more customers. This is good. Riverside seating is also available. The burger arrived and it was a monster. The bread was perfect, meat was mouthwatering, egg was delicious, onion rings were consistently crisp and the bacon was heart stopping. This is a great place to eat if you're ever in Lucerne. I would go back.

Without question the best pub in Luzern (if not Switzerland!) to watch live sport or catch up over a beverage while soaking up a classic British pub atmosphere. Plenty of seating wrapped around a central bar, with exceedingly tasty food, friendly service and plenty of screens. Genius move: not only are they able to show a different sports event on each screen, but they label each tv in advance so everyone knows where to sit and what they’re getting. On top of that is outdoor seating, offering a first class view of the historic Chapel Bridge running across the Reuss. Best pub in the city, I think so! If you found my review or photos useful, please give a quick thumbs up 👍 Thanks!

We ordered two cheeseburgers, one fries, and one beer. It cost 43 CHF. You order at the bar for all food/drinks. We sat outside. The woman at the bar asked what I wanted for a drink (spouse had the beer), and l said: “I don’t need a drink; I have water with me.” She then gave me a long lecture on how it’s not acceptable in Switzerland to have your own water at the table. She was not rude, but she went on and on at length. I explained my water bottle is my personal bottle, and she said: “If doesn’t matter; you aren’t allowed to have it out of your bag.” I have spent a lot of time in Switzerland and I have never experienced this before, so I was suspicious. I asked our hotel concierge if this is true and she said “It is absolutely not true.” The concierge said as long as you buy something from a restaurant/cafe/bar, they shouldn’t have any problem with you drinking from a water bottle. So be advised that you will be lectured if you dare to sip from your own water bottle. The burgers and fries were good, expensive but that is...
