This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I normally do not write reviews but I just had to write this one because it was that bad.
Firstly, the service was terrible. For a restaurant that require customers to eat at their Al Fresco area if they are ordering fondue, or indoors if they are not ordering fondue, you'd expect them to at least have a sign directing the customers to the respective tables. But there wasn't even a staff that was guiding us to our table. They expected us to know where to sit from the start. There was an instance where we called the waiter once to order and when he came over, he scolded us for calling him too many times. When we were trying to order, he also scolded us for not ordering in the right sequence. Another instance was when my mother was trying to find the washroom. She asked the staff where the washroom was and they replied her in a really rude tone. The last instance was when I was paying for the meal. The red flag was that the waiter assumed I was the youngest one eating and he was questioning why I was paying for the meal. I am not one to complain about service but this was absolutely terrible and unprofessional.
Secondly, the food is way too overpriced and disgusting. Not sure if authentic cheese fondue is supposed to be like this but it was vile and pungent. The cheese was really bitter too. The bread was terrible too. I have no idea how bread could be screwed up that bad. They gave a pitiful amount of bread too for the price.
Thirdly, an Al Fresco area should at least have some heaters during the winter time but there wasn't any at all. The view was not bad but I was too focused on keeping warm to even enjoy it.
Please do not waste your money here if you are thinking...
Read more4.5…. An elegant restaurant overlooking the beautiful Luceirn Lake. The waiter was a Slovenian native, who took us in with a great big smile after we were rejected by a restaurant down the street that didn’t even look that busy. Granted, we did not have a reservation, but there were tons of tables open, there. 😩 The gentlemen offered to take our coats right away, And we took him up on the offer since we were pretty wet from some heavy rain. We ordered the cheese plate, which was authentic Swiss cheese and excellent. Our meals were the Osso Bucco, (love saying that), and the Mushroom Risotto Rice- both very tasty, authentically prepared, and with smooth consistency. I was reticent to order the braised meal, which was the OSSO, but I was very pleased. It was a portion of beef shank that was excellently seasoned. My wife loved her creamy risotto. No dessert just a creamy coffee. The price was a little hefty, but we did get a $65 bottle of Elias wine, which is from the local winery. High marks for atmosphere, view, waiter,...
Read moreI had a horrible experience here because of an unfriendly waiter. I said that we are ready to order and then asked a question to the waiter about the food and he responded “weren’t you ready?” With an arrogant voice and look. I really wanted to punch his face bur stopped myself. As a humble person, I respect everyone but I really wanted to tell this guy “who the hell you think you are”. Instead of punching him in his face, I went to the manager and complained and she said it is not the first time she hears this for this guy and she would take action. Today I saw him again serving with an unfriendly face to the visitors while walking by the restaurant. You can eat much cheaper at home but you pay a huge premium at the restaurants mainly to be served and then you get this!!! It is disappointing that the restaurant did not take action which shows to me they don’t care about the customers. I will never go there again, I will tell this to all my friends and I don’t recommend the tourists to go there if they don’t want their vacation...
