Zentralbar — Restaurant in Lucerne

INCREDIBLE - one of the few places on our trip where the service was amazing. I’m a bourbon guy and the bartenders, Karsten and Nick, asked questions to understand our tastes, made old fashioneds to our liking 👌🏻 and even gave me a free shot so I could taste the bourbon (SWISS-made) on its own. They gave us recommendations on where to eat next and were more attentive to our needs than any servers thus far. IMPORTANT: it’s customary, even amongst locals, to ‘round up’ your bill for “good” service. If they go above and beyond feel free to give what’s customary where you live.

I was crossing the street in front of Zentralbar and fell in the crosswalk, Nicholas, the owner of Zentralbar witnessed the fall and came running out to make sure I was all right and sat me at one of his tables. He brought me a napkin full of ice to put on my bruise elbow. It was a wonderful gesture. The group I was traveling with witnessed the event and so we all decided to meet at Zentralbar after getting checked into the hotel. Great drinks, but frustrating to see people smoking indoors! All my clothes smelled like smoke after leaving this place too. Very annoying!!!

Updated to 3 star from 1 star. No where on the Google profile does it mention that it's a smoking bar, though I just noticed it mentioned on the website. It's also obvious it's a smoking bar based on ash trays inside. I just wish I knew that beforehand. Seems common for smoking bars in Lucerne to not list it on their Google profile.
