Pizza dough was good. Ingredient was fresh but quality of topping ingredients is similar to a supermarket grocery buy. Would say is on the pricier side for what it has to offer.
Gnochetti, prawn, basil pasta: Pasta was slightly disappointing for an italian restaurant that hand makes their pasta. I was expecting something made from scratch and authentic. However the gnocchi did not have a potato flavour and I was not sure if it was the best pasta choice for the sauce.
The sauce tasted like store bought canned lobster bisque which I was disappointed to taste, expecting something that, according to Italian tradition, should respect the flavours of the raw ingredients. The basil did nothing to complement the pasta’s flavour as it was simply a topping. The shrimp was small, sweet but again unsure why it had to be chopped to small dices.
Something I would have been happy to eat as a home cooked meal but not something I appreciated at an Italian restaurant charging this price.
Service and setting was great. If you are looking for good service, good setting and don’t have much expectation for food flavour then you can consider this restaurant.
With all said hope the business improves over time and I can leave a better review if I do come...
Read moreNever again! Our daughter has Celiac disease and has to avoid any kind of gluten, AND cross contamination. It was our first lunch in a restaurant after we got the diagnosis and we were already very nervous about eating in a restaurant. We found Restaurant Positano because on their website, they claim that people who have to eat gluten free, also people with celiac disease can eat there without any compromise. I had already called them and told them about our situation before I made the reservation and they told me not to worry at all. When we went there, I talked to two waitresses seperately and told them once again, and they again told me not to worry. Our daughter was craving for pizza and we ordered a gluten free pizza for her. Two minutes later the waitress came to me and said that the pizza is baked in the same oven with the other pizzas without any cover, so they cannot guarantee that it is contamination free. Pardon me?? I asked several times, I went there just for this and then? A big dissapointment. Dont go there to eat gluten free pizza if you have celiac disease. I wouldnt trust them and what they claim on their website....
Read moreWent here while in Zurich for work. Definitely worth booking a table on a Saturday evening as very busy. Food was decent, starters were tasty. Pizza for main course was a bit of a let down, I had the Diavola. Toppings were sparse and it wasn't spicy at all. Other pizzas did look much better though. My colleague had the steak which was a decent cut of meat, jsit not quite cooked enough - asked for medium but it was still quite purple. Only disappointment was the service. Quick to be seated and have our order taken, starters took a while, and only after they had been cleared was some bread brought to us, when it should have been before the starter. Main course took a very long time to come. After mains, we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, but it then took about 20 minutes before one was brought to us and only after having to ask a second time. We were offered a free coffee as an apology for having to wait so long. Prices are very reasonable though for...
