Worst service I ever experienced in a Zurich restaurant. I often take a bite in the delicatessa downstairs when I am shopping there and maybe got used to the service and quality of the food which somehow mismatched my expectations of the value proposition I had experienced on a Friday night, not even in peek hour. To start with, I had ordered a green kombucha and got a bottle with some red liquid inside; asking the waiter if that was correct (like if am not knowing the brand I ordered) he nodded very convinced about, I said again I had ordered a green one and he finally ask the waitress who took my order and both insisted was the right one. So the waiter poured the glass and left the bottle, which of course was the wrong one. I called him again and after reading loud the label on the soft drink, finally they change it and brought what I have asked. Second, let’s say the timing was not ideal from the cocktail to have something to eat at the table. When finally my daughter’s dish came with my appetizer, after finishing it and waiting for almost 15 minutes, the main dish never came. I had the strong impression that having to ask for the food, was quite obvious they forgot about it (maybe I am wrong but I was placed nearby the kitchen and close to the screens where they manage the orders) and suddenly two employees were caring about my table. Seriously, how long could it take to boil some raviolis, add some sauce already made and grate some truffle on top of it? The waitress came nicely to ask how was the service, in a very automatic way and I said I was disappointed, obviously she did not say anything against. Of course I cancelled my intentions of even asking a second drink nor dessert. That is a pity, such a nice place but the food was not even close to other mid quality...
Read moreNice rooftop location atop the Globus building. We arrived around 5:30pm without a reservation and host said he could accommodate us as long as we agreed to leave the table in 50 minutes. Agreed. Ordered drinks and Beetroot Variation salad as we quickly scoured the menu for other items to enjoy. When drinks arrived we had decided on the Carrot Foam Soup, Grilled Lettuce Salad, and Beef Filet Cafè de Paris 160grams (5.6oz.) served with shoestring fries that on the menu i believe were call pommes aluetes. Everything was great except the steak, which was ordered at Medium, specifying 'a little bit of pink' but it was seared on the outside and red throughout. Didn't taste as it was too rare and asked the server to please have it cooked some more and she happily did so. But the plate was returned in less than 3 minutes. I cut into a different portion of the meat and it was still rarer than I had ordered, but I accepted the offering. First bite I realized a distinct taste difference in the beef- more of a wild game taste like venison or elk than beef. Ate about 5 small bites and resolved myself to acknowledge I had made a poor choice and the tuition for this education was 58 francs (about $58). But the carrot soup was amazingly good, the grilled Romaine lettuce was delicious and the vinaigrette on the wild greens served with the beet salad was fantastic. I would go here again and skip the steak. Wish I had taken some pics because the presentations were very artistic...
Read moreI've visited the place a couple of times. The decor and the terrace are really nice and comfortable with a chic feeling. The food is very good, especially the mezze.
During our two prior visits to this restaurant our waiter happened to be Ala and the service was incredible. She introduced herself and we were given advice on dishes and wine and attended to where needed, overall the experience was very pleasant.
Yesterday (17 Aug) we also went there and it was short of a disaster. Firstly at the entrance we were never given a chance to even say that we've got a reservation, we were greeted by a flood of unuseful information about the flamingo painting (that we didn't ask about) and then were told that they have a living flamingo and we absolutely have to see it (which was actually a statue of a peacock). Then our table was changed multiple times (we wanted to move to the terrace where we actually reserve a place) and only with the 3rd interaction with the waiters who were changing all the time at the beginning we were able to say that we have a reservation on the terrace. Then we were shown a bottle of champagne that we ordered but were told we'll get it once we move to another table (why show it then before?:D ). Then we asked for a menu at least 4 times and got it very late, at least 30mins in after we got the final table. The overall experience was not very pleasant. The food was great!
In general it's a great place but the service should...
