Fantastic vegan, healthy and supertasty food. Place was buzzing when we were here, good vibes, friendly people. 🇹🇭 I'm from Thailand and tried the vegan Thai curry here, actually more out of curiosity and without many expectations: But it was fantastic! The real deal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm still wondering how they got the taste so right without using fishsauce or shrimp paste. I'm not even vegetarian, but their curry was absolutely wonderful, not lacking anything at all, and if they'd have a branch here in Bangkok, I'd come often even for the curry. Which says a lot—it's very rare that I eat Thai food abroad and am not somewhere between dissatisfied or outright angry 😆
👨🍳 This place deserves the highest praise, really set a new standard for what's possible with vegan curries, and if they'd offer a cooking class on how to make that curry, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. (I've visited plenty of vegan places here in Thailand and tried their curries, and roots' is the best by far.)
🥞 Oh, and yeah, the juices are great, and the pancakes are pure sin 🤤
🙏 Thanks to the team behind making this all happen, on my next visit to Zurich this will be one of my top...
Read moreI am torn about this one. It's positioned as healthy eating, and I guess it is. Now it might be an acquired taste, and it's not mine. So trying to put myself into a gym aficionado, I imagine this is a nice place to eat. The menu is pretty bare with a few choices of salads, smoothies, sandwiches, juices and such. It's not cheap, but not overly priced either. You can get your lunch for less than 30chf. The entrance is a bit weird, where you walk on a glass panel above of a gym room where healthy people are getting even healthier. So I guess it's inspirational. Hipsters will probably love it, and gym lovers too.
Staff is nice, setup is clean (healthy!) and goes with a "natural" vibe, altogether a very pleasant environment.
Oh and it definitely tastes healthy. I'll let you judge if that's good or bad. For my personal taste I would put 2 stars because that's not my food of choice, but again trying to be objective, if that's your thing then I think it's a good place. So 4 "objective"...
Read moreI used to love coming to roots and getting a fresh pressed juice and snacks. It was a daily routine and would come with friends often.
Currently, it seems the have streamlined their processes and I would compare it to a 'healthy option' Panera Bread. I don't dig the changes as it appears healthy but has lots of short cuts. When local restaurants turn 'fast-foody' at the same cost, it guts the reason why consumers come to these healthy eateries. I ordered the avocado, peanut butter toast. Topped with de-thawed pomegranate seeds and smothered with a nice almond butter was white bread (despite informing me that it was wheat and spelt). If you are a conscious eater beware of the food tech-ed options.
That being said, for an easy smoothie, coffee etc., this spot seems like a nice place to co-work or for a...
