Not great, atmosphere wise it's crowded and hectic. There's an English menu at least but it doesn't really tell you what you're ordering. I went off the pictures from Google reviews and ordered oyster soup and steamed oyster with a spinach. The soup was the worst I've ever had. It was way too salty, couldn't drink two spoons of it. Everyone knows seafood soup you put as little seasoning as possible so you can taste the natural flavors of the seafood, but not this place. All salt and ginger, was bad. Steamed oysters were kind of weird, they had an extra sack of puss thing to each of them, honestly never seen it before like this and wasnt appetizing. Spinach was thankfully normal, except they drenched it in minced garlic and hoisin sauce. Overall the worst place I've had so far in Taipei and that's saying something. My...

Read moreWe didn’t know about 台南古早味虱目鱼专卖店 until a kind local aunty recommended it when we asked for directions to Yong Le Market. Today is our 2nd visit to this place during our 6-day trip in Taipei. This old-school, traditional shop is a hidden gem and a must-go for anyone wanting to taste authentic local flavours. The fish porridge is incredible—tender milkfish in a clear, flavourful broth with no fishy smell. The thick, collagen-packed fish skin adds a smooth texture. For someone who isn’t much of a fish fan, I couldn't stop but finish the entire bowl that came in a generous portion. We also ordered the grilled milkfish, yummy! It’s very value-for-money; about TWD$160-170 per fish dish. This is the perfect spot to experience the true taste of Tainan’s culinary traditions. Support...
