Saw this place on social media and I bookmarked this place so I could visit in Taipei. Located in a very convenient location near the Taipei main station and the shop is the location of an old bookstore, the interior decor is very nice and photo worthy. Quite a number of items in the menu, but the main reason for coming here is to try the earl grey tea souffle. Took quite a while to prepare and we waited for about 20 minutes for it to be ready. Throughout the wait, the whole place was filled with the smell of the souffle and we were looking forward to trying it. We also ordered a lemon sandwich cookie and when it was served we were so shocked by the size of it. So small it can actually be finished in 1 bite. Then came the souffle. Smelled good look good but the standard was not really up to expectations. The interior of the souffle was still quite moist which I didn't like, hence it was quite heavy and just sank within a short time like a crater. On the other hand, we got the longan osmanthus tea and another longan red date tea and both were very good. We enjoyed the tea more than the food. Quite an expensive meal here. We paid 760TWD which was probably the most expensive meal we paid for 2 during the entire trip. The souffles was the main cost which was 50% of the bill. If you are interested to try, I still think its worth trying since tea flavoured souffle is not common, but there are many good souffle places at a cheaper...
Read moreLocated near Dihua St., this dessert/tea spot has a comfy, old-timey ambiance & decor. The seasonal special, “red jade oolong tea” soufflé pancakes are worth a try if you like tea-flavored desserts, but mine came semi-cooked + “foamy” in the center. The cakes took awhile to cook but again, were a bit too soft for my liking. Not sure if it was bc of the rice flour or the egginess, but I’ve had soufflé pancakes w fluffier and sturdier centers. I enjoyed the nutty + fragrant flavors, but for the price, expected a...
Read moreA trendy take on Taiwanese/Japanese design and traditional flavors. Very nice ambience with smooth jazz music and a traditional alter along the back wall. At noon on a weekday, it was spacious and quiet, and the counter person spoke excellent English. Pancakes are truly excellent, but made fresh and take quite some time to prepare. Prices are fairly high but...
