Not only is this a Japanese vegetarian restaurant but also a dessert shop famous for its shaved ice. I came here just for the Red Oolong Tea Japanese Shaved Ice ($199) (their special flavour), which is lacto-vegetarian along with the Rainbow Mix Fruit but can also be modified to totally vegan by switching the ingredients which contain lactose.
The soft green bean paste (non lactose free) tasted amazing and complemented well with the fragrant oolong flavour. Even more surprisingly, there was extra soft green bean paste and a few chewy jellies hidden inside the shaved ice, which lied around the upper core.
In addition, you can also add on toppings but it would be a little pricey for a shaved ice. The decor is quite Japanese styled and the service attitude is good and efficient. Its location is nearest to the exit 5 of MRT Zhongshan Station. Overall, it’s a 9.5 out of 10!
FYI, you scan the QR code to order, minimum charge is $150, and there isn’t 10% service charge in your bill. Moreover, there’s a self service area with tableware...
Read moreI’m super impressed! This small vegetarian Japanese eatery highlights all kind of dietary restrictions in this spectrum, making it easy to see what’s vegan, lacto or ovo. The menu is in both Chinese and English.
I had the vegan chicken curry and the miso soup for $209 and it was so delicious. It was a good quantity of food that made me satisfied, and with a fantastic crispness on what is meant to look like a chicken drumstick (it’s on a wooden stick for you to bite). The sauce had a texture that was not too thick not too thin, flavourful, and seemed to have a variety of veggies, including baby corn and zucchini.
They also had a plentiful variety of different dishes and ‘meats’ - omni brand vegan luncheon meat (still need to try this, I think it’s like vegan spam?), vegan chicken, ramens, omurice, shaved ice, a large selection.
You order at the till and you are requested to also return your tray when you’re done, making it a casual, easy and fast experience. And you can sit at either tables or on...
Read moreA cute lil place that served vegan shaved ice but so much more. at first, when I arrived I thought they only do dessert but later I saw on the menu they have a lot of other vegan options. I took the rainbow shaved ice with the pretty colorful presentation. except for the look it also tastes great and inside was hidden a coconut cream style ice cream and tiny jelly balls. I also took small cubes coated with brown sugar and a sesame mochi dessert. everything tastes great, and the place work in a self-serving system meaning you take the utilities from the shelf and you clean up after yourself. the service was nice and the...
