I tried a couple of Tainan's beef soup places already but haven't come here yet as it's more expensive than others, and it always seems crowded. So let me just say that the soup here is the best so far. So the hype is real ! The other places had soup with more sweetness but this place has more authentic beef flavor. I had the comprehensive soup with heart, liver, and beef as well as the stir fried beef with garlic. Surprisingly I was disappointed in the beef in both as they were rough and not very tender. One of a few beef soup restaurants that opens for dinner service. They use fresh beef for their soup and dishes, which gives it a unique beefy flavour and bouncy texture without the gamey smell. I'd give the beef soup a 5 star. The beef and vege a 4 star, the "wok hei" (as comedian Mr Nigel Ng puts it) is there, but I would've preferred a tinge more charred and saltiness. Nevertheless, it's my first time tasting "wok hei" in Taiwan, I'm impressed.
