Saw this place on IG and had to give it a try as a taro fan and someone with a sweet tooth. It's located within the Ximending walking district hence it's not difficult to find especially it's close to the touristy noodle shop. Already knew what to order because when in doubt always choose the signature item which is usually number one on the menu. Since it was raining we got the cool one without the ice, as there are another 2 options for the iced and the hot one. The portion was quite big with the taro balls, red bean and green bean. I saw they had these giant balls and decided to add them as well for 2 at 15TWD. Seats outside the shop were not very comfortable though. The legs of the chairs and tables seemed to be on the drain covers so the tables would shake easily and cause spillage of the dessert so be careful about it. It was drizzling and we sat there though there was shelter, and there were also seats somewhere else as advised by the staff. The dessert was okay, nothing fantastic but full of ingredients. For 75 TWD is rather affordable and big enough for 2 to share. The balls were quite chewy but we were quite intimidated by the size of the big ones which they said is 5 times the size. We had to use the spoon to cut it up but we were surprised that the bigger balls tasted better and softer than the smaller ones. Would recommend a visit to try this place. They also have other variations like the grass jelly and the soya bean ones and also other forms of shaved ice. Would worth a 3.5...
Read moreafter i paid and asked if i can have my tofu pudding cold instead of hot, the cashier’s face fell, and he looked crushed and disgusted, and he stared at the already printed receipt like i had killed someone and he had to clean up the body. me: … nevermind (nb: i was the only customer there) other points: the tofu pudding was lukewarm at best. you could have put grass jelly on that, easy. the brown sugar jelly was chewy but far too sweet, as per name taro balls were gritty with visible bits of starch in it english comprehension on the cashier’s part was A+ 2 stars for good english comprehension and tasty...
Read moreThis is a small takeaway shop amid of the famous shopping area, there is only a small sitting area in front of the shop so beware of that.
I give a lower grade on the service is because one of the staff is coughing non-stop while taking order. That is a little off putting.
The dessert itself is pretty good. The grass jelly is very smooth, taro ball is chewy and you can taste the main ingredient not just a dough ball. The portion is big so you can definitely share the order.
I will come back again but i’ll probably get takeaway and eat it elsewhere, maybe at a...
