Chanced upon this as it was the bar nearest to me when I was in need of a drink and was wonderfully surprised by how good it is. Primarily a cocktail bar, but they have a good albeit smaller collection of beers, wines, non-alcoholic drinks and bar grub as well.
In the cocktail department, they have a list of popular cocktails, but what's really impressive and worth exploring is their specialty mixes that they have concocted listed in terms of strength of flavours, then mixed either with aromatics or fruits of Taiwan. I've tried some of the aromatics and all of their fruit cocktails and my personal fave is the Happy Fruit Tea 開心水果茶, which comes served in a pineapple cocktail cup and presented with dry ice.
Bar grub wise, they offer items such as nuggets, lemon chicken wings and fries, latter two of which my mates and I kept ordering.
Really friendly and helpful staff who converse in a basic English, but if you have a Chinese speaker with you, you really get to maximally appreciate the very warm hospitality and cheerfulness of the staff.
Typically crowds seem to come in after 9pm (10pm-ish) and a smattering of people continue through the night. Mix of both queer and straight people, frequented by locals and a handful of foreigners.
Indoors is non-smoking, but outdoors allow smoking.
Have been going back every other day in my week's stay in Ximending, and cannot recommend...
Read moreI came here with my family after Christmas dinner. The service is really good. We got free shots when we ordered a set, which is really nice. The rum based "Blood and Tears" is my favourite cocktail because it has rum and grapefruit in it, quite tasty. The gin based Candy Can is sooo sweet. It tastes like candy. If you have a sweet tooth, this should be a good choice. The absinthe based "Cheating" is my other favourite and contains apple, orange and aloe. It's really refreshing with a slightly strong alcohol content. Mum loves it. My brother-in-law recommended the Negroni because it has quite a lot of...
