Cheers Grand Hyatt Taipei — Restaurant in Xinyi District

A bit poor service, many gaps to improve.

I arrived to the bar and nobody's hosted me so just went to a empty table which is ok.

I've waited for around 5min but no service neither menu so I didn't know what they have, called the waitress and asked for a beer.

It took a bit too long but nothing out of the SOP they have, close to the 5min, I would like to have a coaster under my drink though.

To ask for the bill was another challenge, after few minutes chasing the service I just went to the cashier to sort it out.

I believe they were crowded and with not enough service staff, if I'm not wrong there was 1 server for the whole bar+terrace which is not really a 5* service, waitress was very diligent and the bartender/manager as well.

Good stuff the live music, it gives...

Went there in February 2023. Very good environment, as expected for the brand. Staff is very helpful.

Unfortunately the food was not up to the standard expected and, sadly, the price paid. This holds true also for the buffet across the hall that i tried recently in this hotel, finally coming back to it after a few years away from Taipei due to COVID and other reasons.

To the details: some food came cold, with mistakes vs what we ordered, and the style was something that simply didn't work (ex: quesadilla didn't taste good). Even the fries let us down.

Not sure what changed but I'd recommend for the management to do some more work around tasting and sampling...

Foods are that of TGI Friday quality.

Service was...... "Scarce"! When you do get the server's attention and placed the order, it's a good half an hour wait for them to be delivered. That slowness applied to the beverages ordered, the round of appetizers orders, followed. By the mains! All 3 rounds had looooong waits.

What was the most unacceptable service was to refuse us an chair added when the venue was only 1/3 occupied, if that! It's unbelievable how unbent the staff were. The added chair would not block any walkway or be of any hinders to others- if there were any!

Disappointed that's the service attitude of an international...
