Noodles with Soy Bean Paste ($180): There are a lot of shredded cucumber topped with the paste on the noodles. They give you a large spoon to stir the noodles and the paste since it’s hard to do so merely with a pair of chopsticks. The thin noodles (you can also make them thick) have soft and flexible texture and soy bean paste really complements well, which ends up being a little sweet. This dish has been a significant part of my childhood memories.
Mutton with Scallion (S: $310, M: $465, L: $620): The slices taste relatively succulent, well seasoned, and strongly flavoured. It’s one of the best mutton delicacies I’ve ever tried.
This Chinese cuisine banquet restaurant is on 3rd floor (there’s a main access to the building next to POYA and the opening lift will lead you here) approximately a hundred metres away from the MRT station (Zhongshan) and the closest exit is No. 3; besides, it wasn’t too busy and a few seats were empty on Thursday night.
To top it off, moderate prices, convenient location, excellent food, rapid delivery, and benevolent service. Overall, it’s a 9 out of 10!
FYI, hot tea and dessert (almond tofu jelly) are complimentary, the 10% service charge is included...
Read moreVery impressed with the food here. We waited pretty long for our food. The skin of the duck was served first, but the wait time for the duck meat took 15+ mins to come. Makes us wonder if we were served with the same duck.
The scallion and cucumber that goes in the filling of the wrap is left outside on the table before serving, so they taste very dry and has no flavour.
The rest of the dishes are mediocre. I valued more on the quality of the duck. It feels like the restaurant exist to serve their old customer since the servers seems to be friendlier to other tables, which seems like they knew each other...
Read moreFamily gathering and come to this enjoyable restaurant for authentic Beijing style food. Looking around, most of the customers are regulars and must been here for many many times. Instead of ordering the regular signature Peking Roast Duck this place is famous for, we decided to order several small dishes for us. Surprisingly, not bad at all. Please see my posted photos to try yourself next time. I love this traditional Chinese restaurant still insists the best quality food from Northern region of China, and not going for the fancy seating and decoration, even these are very important factors for...
