Terribly disappointing. We dined at the Shang Palace in Makati, so were excited to try the all you can eat dim sum here in Bangkok. BIG MISTAKE, as it is not even comparable in taste, quality, atmosphere, nor service.
First of all, it’s not a restaurant, it’s a banquet room with a bunch of tables in it, so the atmosphere is weird. Plus, there is a corridor for the hotel right next to the dining room, so people are constantly walking by while you’re eating.
The food is okay...if you can get any. After we ordered our first round, our waitress never came around again, so we were never able to order a second round or dessert, which negates the all you can eat idea. We had to flag down the manager to ask about the hot mustard that we had requested 20 minutes prior. We never got a refill on our hot tea (that was not included). We were never offered anything.
After sitting for 15 minutes with a table full of empty plates, empty glasses, our elbows on the table with our hands folded beneath our chins, timing how long it would take for someone to notice we were done and waiting for our bill, we finally got fed up and flagged someone down. This was the most disappointing restaurant experience we have ever had in a...
Read moreLocated on 3rd floor at Shangri-la Hotel. Buffet is available only on Wed-Fri in lunch. Staffs are nice and so active to provide the good service. It' my first impression when we arrived early before opening time, but the restaurant is ready to serve, so I havn't needed to wait for long. This year, I went to eat Dim sum around Bangkok in many hotels and I can say that this is the best one. Quality and taste is good while the price is not expensive, drink is included. It's waiting quite long in some additional orders, however, staffs are keeping follow-up. I like almost every dishes, and don't miss the dessert especially Mango pudding is highly recommended!! I will find some day to visit...
Read moreHad all you can eat dim sum. Costs Thai Buht 1000 per person. Food is a little above average in Thailand, but cannot compare to Hong Kong standard.
Thank you Puii, our wait staff for your excellent and attentive service. He helped correct the incorrect numbers of order that another waitress guided us at the beginning. One complaint was that some of the staff are not well trained. We're offered only jasmine tea, the waitress kept saying jasmine tea when we requested any other type of tea available. Please have more English speaking staff ready for the tourists return.
We had a great time except this little incident. We will return for the value of food and great dinning atmosphere in...
