Botanic Backyard Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Chana Songkhram Subdistrict

When I visited this restaurant, its review score was 4,8 over 1000+ reviews. Therefore, I came here with some expectations. I had pasta with seafood which was 260 TBH and drank 1 small glass of Singha for 100 TBH. Well let’s start my observations:

I wanted Fettucine; but Spagetti served. It is not a big deal; but gives a little clue about communication between kitchen and waiters/customers and waiters

Portion of pasta (and seafood in it) was ridiculously small according to Thailand standars, price and review score

Draught beer of 33 cl Singha is 140 TBH; but 1 glass of 33 cl Singha 100 TBH. So why should I pay more? The waiter also suggest glass; not draughy😂 This is funny And kinda putting customers in a silly dilemma

Taste of pasta was not that good. It is not so clever to put chili in seafood pasta unless wanted espacially!

No salt and pepper on tables. If you serve pasta, at least you offer freshly grounded pepper to customers.

Staff is not that smiley. If you want to pay with credit card, you have to go to the cashier😂 they don’t bring the POS machine to table which is nonsense!!!

To summarize: my review point here is just 3. And I don’t think the quality of this restaurant is reflecting its score of 4,8. Not recommended. But If you are rich and shallow white european tourist, go ahead and...

Well all I can say is the food is another level of crap.....this isn't thai food your serving. All comes out greasy and tasteless. Tastes like all is cooked in butter? Worst pad thai I've had in my life, greasy and very lucky if there was 10 noodles in it....I thought pad thai was all about the noodles? Clearly a shortage? Chicken cubed and fried off prior to adding to dish....texture all wrong. Then staff look gormless when ask for the chilli, sugar and fish sauce accompaniments.

Wife and friends had Pad Kra Pao...no one could eat it for the same reason...swimming in grease and tasteless.

All in all the only thing you couldn't cock up was the bottle of singha beer I had, but like the food was overpriced at 180 baht a bottle?

Service is another level of slow. Unbelievable is the only answer I can give to that....don't enter the restaurant needing a drink....you'll be very thirsty before it arrives.

Clearly people are speaking out with the reviews and you say with all your hypocritical replies you are taking it on board and you will sort...but clearly the truth is you not.

Personally I can't understand how on face value the reviews are so high?

I really like the decorations, the athmosphere here, but when I ordered a fish&chips today I really disappointed. You can see on the 1st photo the quanity of french fries. Almost nothing, not fitting for the fish and for price. (160B) And the brown skin of the fish was terrible (2nd photo) The chef haven't see fish before? First, you have to remove the skin! Not so difficult to recognize, I can show you! :D I ordered one more portion french fries, because I was really hungry, but the potato never arrived... I asked for a lime/lemon, 6 people around me do nothing just see around and when I asked again they finally gave me. Good job! One more thing, how can I cut the fish with fork and spoon??? For this price I expect better service! Almost nobody speaks enough good in english from the staff. Finally the music is too loud, I want to eat, not to dance! *Few weeks before I ordered fried rice, I didn't have any problems and the taste was really good! Maybe better if you serve thai food instead...
