Olive Kitchen - Khaosan — Restaurant in Chana Songkhram Subdistrict

I personally loved everything. Me and my partner came in at 9pm on a Sunday night and were one of a few tables there, so we were seated immediately. We chose upstairs for the AC and they do have a button to call a waiter when you want to order but we didn’t have to do that because ours was always around when we were ready. The layout is very cute and the seating was comfortable. They have a bar right at the top with an ‘adult playground’ and cool vibes.

I was excited about the menu and appreciate how aesthetically pleasing it’s laid out. For drinks, we had a biscoff latte and sparkling lychee rose. Both were so yummy! I’m very impressed by their nonalcoholic beverage selection. We were keen on having Thai inspired dishes so we chose to try to the chicken basil pizza and squid with salted egg spaghetti. I’m not a fan of pizza in general, it has to be artisan and crafted with premium ingredients for me to even consume it. The pizza we got, although not a traditional flavor, was similar quality to ones I’ve had all over Italy. I do wish it was a thinner crust but delicious nonetheless. As for the pasta, I enjoyed how light and flavorful it was. It was a perfect compliment to the pizza, not too much together. I wrote the longest review I ever have written about our group's combined 8 hours experiences at this wonderful place last weekend, but sadly, it did not post.

So, to recap, the team here are amazing. Hospitality and service oozes from all that is and are there. There is a pride and love of what is delivered, how it is delivered, and by all involved. Happy staff, food with heart and soul, locally sourced artisinal produce, and a wonderful vibe; bistro slash coffee shop slash people-watching sidewalk hang out slash new floors and areas coming soon.

Bravo to the team, and to the people behind it. All six of us were, and still are, grateful and thankful we found this, and that our deliciously different pizza dinner, the following day's extensive brunch selections (with willingly made drinks not on-menu), and afternoon grazing on home-cured Spanish cold meats (with more than a touch of draft Laotian liquid), truly added to our special weekend reunion and celebration.

Great vibe with appropriate music and volume too. Bravo to all. Amazing work with heart and soul. Thank you for being. Love this place.

A truly wonderful dining experience is more than just about the food. That said, the food last night at Olive Kitchen was outstanding! (And this is coming from self-described “foodies” from California!) I had the Flaming Pizza…fresh ingredients, tasty sauce, and awesome crust! Others in our party had the salmon, a shrimp noodle dish, and the Roasted Chicken pizza, all excellent. The only hiccup of the evening was one GF member in our party ordered a dish with rice noodles, which were in the end not available, which delayed that dish. But the way they managed the situation sealed the 5-star rating I gave. The owner, James, came to our table to apologize for the mistake and ended up creating an original dish that met the necessary dietary restrictions…and was delicious! On top of that, he didn’t charge for the late dish. The customer service (led by our charming waiter, Soon) was superb and the atmosphere and vibe of the place is wonderful.
