Simply a great hotel and very accomodating. Rather would have given it 4,5 stars as i'll explain later.
You are greeted by a quirky, artsy, open, hotel lobby. Staff is enthusiastic and there's good music being played in the background.
The menu the hotel offers if you fancy grabbing a bite there is extensive enough that there's something for everybody. From traditional thai food, to western food. The same can be said about their drinks.
Hotel rooms are very nice too. Spacious enough and equipped with powerful a/c's to cool down the room in a swift manner.
The hotel also has a excursion desk where you can book guided trips to various kinds of places. Next to the hotel (directly connected to it) is another one. Ivy there will gladly point you in the right direction as to what tours to consider and do. They'll gladly book you a taxi aswell in case you have to be somewhere.
In case a tour starts very early, the kitchen will gladly prepare your breakfast as to-go, so that you can consume it on your way there.
The only downside to this hotel is that the hallways are open on the sides and that there's single layer glass, meaning plenty noise will leak in if you're on the 'wrong' side of the hotel.
Other than that,...
Read moreThis was my first stay in Thailand, I directly took a bus from Don Meaung Airport to Khaosan road and it's quite walk able from the bus stop. It was not even 5 mins walk from the main area.
My check in time was 2 PM, but I reached the place around 7.30 AM in the morning, they offered me with placing my luggage in the locker room and getting refreshed in a shared bathroom. Never expected the shared bathroom to be so hygienic. Kudos to the management and housekeeping team. They even provided with all the basic toiletries so that I needn't unpack things before check in.
Once done, I did have a good nap in the waiting lounge, where there were super comfy lengthy beds and couches. The room was bit small but for a single person or for two that would suffice with all the basic amenities in place.
The restaurant has a good option of eateries and it does taste good, also there are plethora of dining options in and around the stay.
The location of the stay is another major plus point, very near to the bus stop and has best lively streets and night life. What else do you need for a perfect relaxing stay at a...
Read moreFor the price point the food at casa picasso is very good value and has a lot of flavour with a wide range of dishes from Thailand, Europe and some items which may be harder to find elsewhere. The Shakshouka was especially good and is better than some of the ones I have had in London. The ingredients were very fresh and the cream dip complemented the bread very well but the best thing for me was the freshness of the eggs and their bright orange colour which were not over cooked and still runny enough to dip with the bread. The pizza is quite famous at the restaurant and was also very fresh and generous portion size for the money. The cheese was great and very stringey when pulled apart. The pizza is the very thin Italian type in case sourdough or deep pan is preferred. The large pizza slice is the very good value for money and the signature pizza of the restaurant though the size may be too large for one person! The staff are all very friendly and can speak English well. As I stayed at the hotel also the 10% was also an...
