this sports-oriented australian managed pub serves decent food including meat pies, upstairs roof open on occasion, targets groups and events; nice looking place; good english,no parking, nighttime can get dense with expats; i thought the beer prices were a little high but they are in this entire neighborhood, the place opens 3ish on weekdays and 11 ish on weekends; the manager,older australian said those hours reflected amounts of potential customers; the bar/pub is sectioned off well, so you can be insulated from a noisy group next to you; the place specializes in australian football and the assies crowd in here for those events; depending on your tastes, they may be a good thing or bad, can get to be a bunch of drunk rowdies; is kinda cute listening to all the australian slang; more than once i had to ask what...

Torri the owner is a lovely guy who has built himself his own version of paradise. Being an Australian its been great to find a place that does a good meat pie when im craving, i can't go past the chunky beef pies it comes with chips, salad or mash and peas and gravey so i cant comment on the rest of the menu but im sure its great too. Theres always a table of regulars hangi g out with Torri and everytime ive been there its been a nice crowd of not too many people but enough to add a sense of excitement to any game, match or race yr watching. Mixed drinks are a good bang for yr buck as they dont skimp on the spirits and no post- mixed soft drinks. If you go in and say G'day to Torri mention that Kristis post sent you in and for every 10 people i direct his way he'll wash my car for me....

If your looking to watch sports and drink with friendly local expats, this is the place for you. Only rated it three stars because of the funky smell of the place and the meat pie I had was quite dry. The owner (we presumed) was really friendly and brought out a special free sauce for my friend to eat with her fries.
