Summary: Mismatch of expectations, food was ok, service was bad and too many mosquitos.
Very fancy looking looking menu and nice place tucked into a residential corner but my meal was pretty ordinary, my friend's meal was better but not what you'd expect for a fancy French restaurant.
I had beef.. (something) with red wine sauce and mashed potato. Beef was a bit tough and mashed potato had a weird flavour to it.
Service was pretty terrible. They brought us warm bread which is great but no butter. Then we had to wave for 10 minutes before eventually shouting across the restaurant to get the staff's attention.
Mosquitos were also pretty bad. They did bring us repellent but they didn't have any fans or coils which would have helped more.
Price was 279 for my meal which I think is ok for the fact that its western food and the portions were also quite large. I would've liked it to be better taste though, obviously, and...

The service was prompt, food a little slow in coming but only because everything was cooked to order and worth waiting a few extra minutes for. Portions were generous and the food was really quite good. Haute cuisine? Not really, but competently prepared and entirely satisfactory. My wife enjoyed the fish with cream & wine sauce; I had the pork with mushroom sauce. Don't know why they call it "Franco-Thai" -- there are no Thai dishes on the menu. But the menu is otherwise quite large and varied. Remarkably inexpensive. Excellent home-made bread, by the way. Nice atmosphere, a real bar, and even a pool table in decent condition. If you'd like some good Western food for a change, try this place -- you'll be...
Read moreAn excellent little hidden gem where locals and travellers alike can nestle in for the evening and enjoy sweet music, water features, a few glasses of red or white and a menu to die for. Traditional and country is the best way to describe it. French? Yes. And very country. The salmon was delightful and fresh and the pate was a perfect offset combination with pickles and onions. The bread was crisp and the butter was creamy. Hats off to this French country experience right in the heart of...
