Was craving a burger and the Hard Rock is right across the street from my hotel...perfect. Sat on the lower level very close to the band. Ordered a glass of red wine...yikes it was awful. Switched to a Vodka Soda which was much better, but not great.
Order a burger, I think it was the Diablo burger, which was absolutely delicious. The fries that came with it were a bit cold and a bit stogy, but I did not really need the calories from the fries anyway so all was good.
The entertainer was so good, she had an awesome voice, I think her band was called Black Rose and well worth going there just to hear her beautiful voice. The cost is a bit on the high side for Thailand but if you factor the live music it is very reasonable. I did not like the fact that they put a 10% automatic service charge, but i guess that stuff comes from HO in the US.
One recommendation - create a wine by the glass list that is delicious and approachable, IMHO people will pay for it, but it has to be good. Also red wine should be served at 68 degrees so I typically order ice to chill it, but apparently, according to the server, he had never seen anyone order ice with red wine. I told him the wine was awful, he smiled at me and slowly backed away...a little too much rage on my part :-( mujhe maaf karo.
Overall, would recommend it for the great burger and awesome music, but maybe order a bottle of...
Read moreWe willingly walked into lowered expectations and were surprised to have our expectations lowered further. The menu, worn out and a former shell of itself in perfect metaphor to the hollowed state of the restaurant. This is a graveyard where culinary dreams go to damnation. A food production line where quality control has embraced post-pandemic Zoom culture and never set foot on location.
There are 3 modes of culinary preparation here, a defroster, a fryer and a microwave. The “chefs” have not mastered any of these 3 modes. The fries came under fried (starchy cold center), not seasoned. The chicken breast (found on multiple dishes) arrived as if it was first prepared in a long bygone era precovid only to awaken in a time warp years later into a sad dystopia. The bbq ribs hastily microwaved, heavily sauced but not seasoned. Operating as a global franchise, “cooking” should be the equivalent of driving on rails but alas the management are charlatans pretending to understand American fast casual. You can taste the embodiment of corporate negligence.
This is the tourist trap version of hitting a roadside IED....
Read moreWe have been to a lot of HRCs around the world - the oldest (London), the smallest (Venice), the largest (Orlando) and many more … Chiang Mai HRC so far deserves the title „the most special one“. Not just because of its location and atmosphere but because they offer food with a great local influence besides the well known world wide available menu. We had Khao Soi Pasta and Khao Soi Burger as well as a huge HRC coconut and we LOVED it. Thank you so much for this special evening! We are huge HRC fans and „collect“ the different destinations, nonetheless we had decided a while ago that we would not like to eat at HRCs anymore (except for a drink or a dessert from time to time) as the menu had been exactly the same everywhere over years. We changed our mind yesterday when we saw those very special offers and we are very glad we did! Thank you so much for this so so special Chiang Mai HRC experience! Keep it up 🥳🤩🥰
And besides the food - they also have an awesome store - quite small as often in HRCs but with a very broad range of different clothing/designs for everyone and a lovely crew -...
