One of the oldest bars on the Chang Mai bar strip (1999) with probably the WORST service. We got seated immediately at 11:45pm on the sidewalk in front of the bar. There was live music inside that we could easily hear and see- so it seemed like a great spot. (At first) We were served our drinks (which we were asked to pay for right then... Weird) and placed our food order of 2 orders of chicken fried rice (probably the simplest thing on the menu) and that's when the nightmare began. About 10 minutes later the front of the bar was closed off- effectively isolating everyone on the sidewalk from the inside, including the live music. (It wasn't raining, wasn't cold, and the place was going to be open for several more hours) Still no food. We watch the cook stuff his face with food and the bar backs and servers cutting up and snacking while we wait. After 20 minutes I get up to ask the cook where our chicken fried rice is (server was AWOL after giving us our beers and taking our money) cook says its coming... 20 minutes later (45 minutes after arrival) the server finally comes back and says they are very busy but she will check on our food. 15 minutes later (over an hour after being seated) we left dishearted and still hungry.
I don't know if this place thinks they're too good to care about their customers because they have been around for a while or if the employees are just too thick to notice when someone has been sitting at a table, waiting for 45 minutes with no food in front of them, but hopefully the owner sees this post and gets out of the game. You had a good run, and I don't know how you have made it this long- but give it up to someone that hasn't forgotten what customer...
Read moreNoisy, busy with good life music, *2 restaurants with *2 terrasses and some surprisingly good food on the menu.. visited mostly by Farang customers with their ladies, the Lucky Bar is actually a classic in C-Mai's strip avenue.
There are *2 Lucky Bars one in front of the other.. The 1' is the larger one along the avenue and is often busy and loud due to life music on 1 side and street traffic in the other side of the Terrasse.. Right behind that 1st one and along the side street you will see the 2"LuckyBar on a 1'floor roof..with a much more tranquil situation.
I had steam Fish (Snapper) wich was pretty good and around 400bth, enough for 2 at a fair price. Cocktails are affordable too but have more ice then alcool. Best to avoid dinning there (Lucky1) during the very busy WE or Hollidays as stuff will quickly be...
Read moreThe place was dead with no atmosphere, you would think as only paying customers we would receive decent customer service with 3 members of staff standing around, however still had to wait to be served. Sign on door says accept different types of card but that is not true only available through qr code. Have to pay extra to play pool after which staff proceeded to watch up closely to make sure we didn't play another game. Felt pressured to order more drinks. Also not a single cubicle in the toilets had any toilet paper which is just unacceptable. Was not a...
