Malee Bakery & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I like this cafe, I have driven past it many times but today was my first time.

The shop was very quiet and clean with peaceful lighting. The staff were very kind and greeted me. They gave me a nice review of all the baked goods and explained the flavours.

I ended up with an iced Americano and a carrot cake cupcake. It was so tasty and had a nice amount of icing. It was a perfect blend of sweet and spice. All together it was 160 baht which is a good price for a drink and dessert in the city. My coffee was 60 baht and the cupcake was 100 baht.

The coffee was also pretty good, it was not bitter but had a smooth taste. No need to add sugar it was perfect.

I've had 2 bad experiences here. Firstly, I ordered an Earl Grey Milk Tea from their menu but they gave me Earl Grey tea without milk. No big deal, I just asked for milk, but I was told to pay an extra 10 baht. Afterwards, they just added milk to my already brewed tea. Weird experience and the tea wasn't that good and not worth the 50 baht.

I came back to try their cakes because they looked and smelled good. I ordered a piece of Earl Grey cake and halfway through eating it, I had to spit out the plastic tip of a piping bag that was baked into the cake! When I told the owners, they said sorry and didn't even offer a refund...

I requested this shop make a fruit cake that wasn’t even on their menu within less than 24 hours of the required delivery, much later than their operating hours. They not only had the cake ready in a timely manner, they absolutely nailed my requested cake. It was positively delicious. For my girlfriends part—she cried, and was extremely satisfied.

I was hoping they could create an ice cream cake, but they found a way to completely satisfy me regardless. I can’t recommend the shop highly enough. Malee both saved my relationship and made my girlfriend’s birthday special. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their customer service is...
