MITR.CNX — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

🚫EXTREMELY DISCRIMINATORY TOWARD FOREIGNERS !!!!🚫 When we parked our bike and approached the entrance, a staff member greeted us politely in Thai. But once they heard us speak English, they immediately asked for our ID.

I questioned why an ID would be needed just to dine in, and right after that, the staff suddenly said “Sorry, all seats and bar are full.” However, through the large front window, we could clearly see that most tables were empty.

This behavior is blatant discrimination against foreign customers. Such practices are unacceptable in a city as international as Chiang Mai.

🚫 Strongly not recommended. If you value fairness and respect, do not support this restaurant. ———————————————

เลือกปฏิบัติอย่างชัดเจนต่อชาวต่างชาติ เมื่อเราจอดรถและเดินมาที่หน้าร้าน พนักงานได้กล่าวต้อนรับเราเป็นภาษาไทยอย่างสุภาพ แต่ทันทีที่ได้ยินว่าเราพูดภาษาอังกฤษ เขากลับถามหาบัตรประชาชน (ID)

เมื่อฉันถามว่าทำไมการรับประทานอาหารต้องใช้บัตรประชาชน พนักงานตอบกลับทันทีว่า “ขอโทษนะคะ ตอนนี้โต๊ะและบาร์เต็มหมดแล้ว” ทั้งที่เรามองผ่านกระจกเห็นได้ชัดว่า มีโต๊ะว่างอยู่หลายโต๊ะ

นี่เป็นพฤติกรรมที่แสดงถึงการเลือกปฏิบัติและเหยียดชาวต่างชาติอย่างชัดเจน พฤติกรรมเช่นนี้ไม่ควรเกิดขึ้นในเมืองนานาชาติอย่างเชียงใหม่
