We unfortunately found this coffee shop on our last day in Kata Beach. I’m an admitted coffee snob and will say that Cup Sea Coffee was the best out of 4 other shops we tried in the area. “Coffee Club” had California prices to support their large but nicely done space. Dome Cafe wasn’t bad and at least they open a bit earlier at like 7:30, but the end product at Cup Sea was much better. It was way cheaper than Coffee Club and maybe just a bit more than Dome but worth it.
This was the only shop we visited that gave you a choice on your bean blend preference. I’ve been up for almost 24 hours but I seem to remember them offering a dark roast with Thai and Brazilian beans, a medium roast with Kenyan and S American beans I think, and a light roast which I didn’t even read as I had already decided on the dark blend.
Great crema on both shots and really nice microfoam texture in the regular milk and with the almond milk. Very yummy, freshly made banana bread and avocado toast with bacon. The banana bread was delivered to the business about 5 minutes before they opened, unlike the previously frozen and reheated poop Starbucks sells.
Nothing really to complain about. Very few coffee shops open before 8 AM, so if you’re going on a morning activity, they will mostly likely stop at a place that has gas as well as a few small food restaurants with coffee. It would be nice to have a great cup of coffee before head out...
Read moreThe only place I get coffee in Kata. For the area, it’s the closest standard of coffee to the specialty coffee offerings in Phuket town, where the coffee industry is thriving. Good selection of drinks on the menu, without them heading too far off-piste with the “fashionable” drinks that are common in Phuket at the moment. They seem to stick with quality over quantity. Nice selection of coffee beans to choose from, depending on your preference. Haven’t tried the food but it always looks tempting. There’s a good morning crowd that seem to grab a coffee before heading out on excursions for the day, and some that have come from an early morning surf. So there’s a nice friendly feeling to the place. I also have to mention how reasonable the pricing is in comparison to most coffee shops on the island that are offering this standard of coffee. 65 Bhat for a flat white is definitely getting good value...
Read moreThis is the best coffee in Kata and possibly Phuket. For the first time in years, in over 4 different countries, I ordered a flat white coffee that was made at a temperature that was not scolding hot (without asking). Hot flat white with dark roast and a light roast extra shot. Super creamy - the barista knows how to froth the milk properly. Proper Italian coffee machine here.
Really impressed by both the flat white and the iced cappuccino. I'm sure the food would be just as good but I didn't try any.
Service was kind and polite and the atmosphere here is like a little tranquil oasis away from the world outside.
Come here for coffee. It's worth waiting until they open at 8am 👍
The only negative thing is that I discovered this place the day...
