AVOID! We ordered gnocchi and a margherita pizza with high expectations given that the sign outside the restaurant says "authentic Italian cuisine" and photos in the menu looked very promising, well let me say that I might prefer something not that authentic then because food was BAD. Gnocchi was the worst we've tried so far, but we're in our 40's only so we still have time to try worse (maybe).
The pizza was also a joke, I was expecting the same beautiful Neapolitan pizza from the photo in the menu, unfortunately I was wrong and the pizza was depressing, and because opinions are subjective I have attached a photo to compare what was promised and what was delivered. When I asked the waiter if she thought it looked like the photo she said yes, so I might need glasses then LOL.
Overall...bad experience, bad food, VERY far from being authentic Italian cuisine, in fact very misleading and disrespectful to say this, the owner has no idea how actual Italian cuisine should be, and reading some other replies from the owner you can easily tell the type of person he is.
Oh there is positive though! We didn't get sick, so thanks for being so considerate, only that moment was ruined but not the rest of our holiday 😉
EDIT: Just in reply to the owner's response. I don't like to leave bad reviews and wasn't planning on leaving a bad review either, but two things made me do it. I don't like to be lied to (I hate it really), simply take actual photos of your pizzas and put them in your menu. I can understand some differences but this was a completely different pizza. Still, this was not enough for me to leave the bad review, however... I did talk to the waiter about the discrepancy between the photo in the menu and the pizza that was received, she said it was the same and left, no further explanations and pretty sure she went to talk to you about it, again no words after this. Only then I decided to take the photos (hence why I had already eaten half the pizza, I was hungry) and given that there was no intention to explain, apologise, etc I then, and only then decided to leave a bad review.
Like you said, this could have been easily resolved with a chat with you, an explanation, probably an apology, but neither you or your staff was willing to do this,...

We had a lovely stay at San Antonio Beach Guesthouse. The rooms were quite nice and very clean. A deeper cleaning was offered daily, but we usually opted for just the essentials – trash removal, towel change, bed-making, and coffee restocking – which was more than enough for us. Everything we needed was available in the room.
The location is excellent – right next to the night market and surrounded by many shops and restaurants. There’s a huge variety of food and shopping options nearby. The walk to the beach was absolutely fine for us, not far at all. Sometimes it was a bit noisy at night when trying to fall asleep, but we’re pretty sensitive – most people probably wouldn’t be bothered.
Breakfast was quite good, with à la carte options ranging from American and English breakfasts to Choco flakes, fruit plates, pancakes, crepes, etc. We usually ordered three items: a drink like cappuccino or latte, a main dish like eggs with sausage and toast, and something sweet afterward like pancakes or fruit. Everything was tasty and we were happy with the variety.
The owner speaks excellent English and was very accommodating. The staff are incredibly kind, though they don’t speak much English. Still, they did a great job and made us feel welcome. The food at the restaurant was also enjoyable – we liked the beef burger with fries and the pork chop. The fresh orange juice wasn’t our favorite, but that can happen.
One of the coolest things was the box with items you could borrow, like beach mats, towels, volleyballs, and even toys for smaller kids. A very thoughtful touch that we made good use of.
All in all, a great stay for the price. Thank...
Read moreOne of the worst places you can sleep in.. The hostel owner was unfriendly and mean, he started reading the hostel rules when we arrived from a tiring trip and how much fines we would pay if we broke his rules. He also told us that visitors are strictly prohibited as there are cameras and he will call the police if we receive any visitors, knowing that we do not want to invite anyone, and we did not even ask him about that.. When we entered the room, it was a major disaster as the room was old and smelled bad. The furniture was old and mismatched. The sleeping place was shocking, the bed and covers were at least 50 years old. The towels were worn out from overuse. The major disaster was that the air conditioner makes annoying sounds as you will never be able to sleep. The air conditioner does not work unless you are in the room. If you go to the beach and when you return, you will find a room with a temperature of 35 degrees. Imagine that the air conditioner switch is tied to a lock and when we asked the hostel owner about the air conditioning, he raised his voice and spoke in a malicious way. This thing ruined our vacation and caused us stress and annoyance, as you feel that you are not welcome, as if you are in a refugee camp and that you are...
