An Amazing Dining Experience at Appia Restaurant
When it comes to dining experiences, Appia restaurant stands out as a beacon of culinary excellence. My recent visit to this establishment was nothing short of extraordinary, and I am eager to share the myriad reasons why Appia has earned a special place in my heart.
The Ambiance
From the moment I walked through the doors of Appia, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern elegance, creating a space that is both cozy and sophisticated. The soft lighting and tasteful furnishings set the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. Every corner of the restaurant is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions.
The Food
The highlight of my visit, undoubtedly, was the food. Appia prides itself on using high-quality ingredients, and this commitment to excellence is evident in every dish. From the first bite to the last, each course was a symphony of flavors and textures that delighted my palate.
I started with the house-made bruschetta, a classic appetizer that showcased the restaurant’s dedication to freshness and quality. The tomatoes were ripe and bursting with flavor, the basil was fragrant, and the bread was perfectly toasted. It was a simple yet exquisite start to the meal.
For the main course, I opted for the signature pasta dish, which was a true masterpiece. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with a delightful al dente texture. The sauce, made with locally sourced ingredients, was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the pasta. It was clear that great care had been taken in selecting the ingredients and preparing the dish.
The seafood options at Appia are also worth mentioning. I had the pleasure of trying the grilled octopus, which was tender and succulent, served with a medley of fresh vegetables. The dish was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The freshness of the seafood was undeniable, a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to sourcing the best ingredients.
The Service
A dining experience is only as good as the service, and Appia excels in this regard as well. From the moment I was greeted at the door, I was treated with warmth and professionalism. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide recommendations.
One of the standout aspects of the service was the genuine friendliness of the waitstaff. They made me feel welcome and valued, adding a personal touch to the experience. It was clear that they take pride in their work and genuinely care about providing an exceptional dining experience.
The Convenience
Appia also scores high on convenience. The location is easy to find, with ample parking available. The reservation process was seamless, and I appreciated the flexibility in accommodating special requests. Whether you are planning a dinner for two or a larger gathering, Appia’s team goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
A Place Worth Returning To
One visit to Appia restaurant is enough to understand why it has garnered such a loyal following. The combination of high-quality food, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional service creates a dining experience that is truly memorable. It is a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal, savoring each bite and appreciating the care and attention that goes into every aspect of the dining experience.

Read moreSo I booked the table for four of us much in advance. As we were excited for this meal. I was meeting two of my friends who were visiting from London. As soon as we entered we were completely blown away with the vibe as it was super positive. Every table was full, every table had guests and all of them were enjoying the meal or the drinks. I was very much looking forward to this dinner as I have already made reservations 3 weeks and at once just to ensure. But my experience did not go so well, speaking of the atmosphere, I would give 10 out of 10. Food is still fine, can't complain, but when I ordered their lamb ribs which is supposed to be a one of their signature and they mentioned you need to order at least 45 minutes in advance as it takes time but we ordered and it was just served in 10 to 15 minutes, I'm not sure if the chef had a magic wand, or how they did it. Didn't really enjoy that, at the same time it tasted a bit dry. All the pastas on the table were pretty amazing so I can't complain. The antipasti's were good too. For the moment I would not speak much about the food because I come from this industry and I understand we might have a bad day at the office or the food can always satisfy everybody's taste and palate. But what was more disappointing, the service. We waited for every single thing, menus were given but nobody asked if you'd like to order. We asked for a champagne, which was right next to the table in the chiller but nobody came to open it. I could have opened the bottle by myself but apparently there were no glasses. As a suggestion, I would like to mention putting the water in the ice bucket which is right next to the table so that at least sparkling water should be cold when consumed. The breads were amazing which were given as we arrived on the table with the olive oil and balsamic, we loved it!, I requested for a repeat, unfortunately it never arrived. We were four and we were given only four breads. If that is what the standard is I have no problem, but if I requested you can either say no or if you say yes please solve it. For a dish which is almost 1,200 Thai bath, they only served a pc of lemon wedge, dish of dish price should at least have some veggies or anything to go on the side, if not, which I understand could be the standard of the restaurant, the server should suggest so we enjoy. I'm still thinking what was the magic that was served in 15 minutes wherein the menu says 45 minutes. We often poured wine by ourselves which I don't feel bad about, My concern would always be the same as I mentioned earlier that despite of their many people around, we were left unattended, we wanted to place order. Nobody came. I'm giving five stars in all three attributes but I really hope somebody reads this and reacts. It's an amazing place, super good vibe, delicious food, needs a...
Read moreNot been here for a few years, but we booked in on a Thursday evening for dinner for two.
We had a 8:30 reservation due to an appointment beforehand, but when we arrived the restaurant was very busy and our table was still occupied, so we were asked to sit at the bar to wait. The maitre d' was very apologetic and immediately provided us will complementary glass of spritz each whilst we waited. Took about 30mins to be seated.
We ordered in advance of being seated and whilst no bread and olive oil were brought initially, the appetizers arrived promptly. The courgette salad was simple but delicious and their take on the caprese salad was great too (chia seed and smoked aubergine additions work very well) though the fig and ricotta bruschetta "special" was bit bland and underwhelming for the price point. Would work better with a stronger cheese (Stilton, Roquefort, Gorgonzola etc).
For pasta we had the Amatriciana and another special, homemade crab ravioli with squid and white wine sauce. Amatriciana was OK, though heavy on the pasta and light on pork cheek. Not a bad dish, though Palla, La Dotta and La Bottega di Luca all do this dish a bit more convincingly. The crab ravioli however was excellent. Very well balanced and executed dish, the fennel setting off the seafood and white wine superbly.
For the secondi we opted for the porchetta and the half chicken. I had initially hoped for a steak but by an objective measure the 2700 price tag for a Thai beef sirloin (no matter if organic and dry cured) was overpriced. The prochetta is recurrently excellent at Appia and was so again, healthy portion of homemade apple sauce sets this off well. The chicken was good too, though both would benefit with some form of vegetables in accompaniment, as opposed to having to order additional side dishes. But a decent main course overall.
For dessert we opted for their 'lemon cappuccino' special. The lemon curd was lovely, and there was some form of crust at the bottom, though apart from being served in a cappuccino cup with chocolate dusting on the top, couldn't detect any coffee flavours. But nice nonetheless.
All in with a bottle of mid-range chianti, came to aorund 7300THB. At the pricer end and definitely some room for refinement of the menu for what they're charging, but service was great and staff were lovely and well trained, so gets a fourth star on that basis. We'll probably be back and some point to try...
