A Hidden Yakitori.
The restaurant's name is a bit misleading, as it does not accurately reflect the authentic local Japanese street style yakitori that is served. However, the food photos on Google enticed me to try it, and I am glad that I did.
The yakitori menu offers a wide variety of chicken cuts at very reasonable prices. The chef, who I believe is Japanese and highly experienced (likely in his 50s), is meticulous in preparing, salting, and cooking the yakitori over a charcoal grill. This is exactly what I was looking for. The yakitori is cooked to perfection, with a crunchy exterior, moist interior, and just the right amount of salt. I highly recommend opting for the salt option rather than the teriyaki. I tried the chicken hearts, thighs, gizzards, skin, ends, livers, and a few other parts. All were delicious and great value. I also ordered a half-size tofu salad, which was surprisingly large and delicious.
