If you’re a sucker for Ghibli vibes and a fellow cat lover, this place is going to steal your heart. We stumbled upon it randomly for afternoon tea, but oh boy, it turned into pure magic! First off, the staff? Absolute a star! Hands down, the most passionate person I’ve met in Bangkok. You can see the pride and love in everything he does—from explaining every single dessert on the menu (yes, every single one!) to giving us a mini grand tour of the place. He even took us upstairs and showed off all the quirky, playful decorations like he was unveiling hidden treasures. For someone who thrives on little whimsical details like me? This was a slice of heaven. Think of it as a grown-up playground with a dash of fairy tale charm. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better—bam! A tiny, fluffy cat appears outside, chilling like a pro on a bench. Just napping away without a care in the world. Cue my heart melting into a puddle! It felt like I was in a dreamy mountain café, far away from city chaos. Now the food.. The scone? Buttery, light, and perfectly paired with cream and jam. No guilt here—just pure joy. I inhaled mine faster than I’d like to admit, but hey, no regrets. Honestly, this place is pure healing energy. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you to slow down, find joy in the little things, and just breathe. I hope it sticks around forever, because the world needs more places like this.

A true hidden gem in the heart of Bangkok’s busiest district. The cafe itself is a little wooden hut in the lower floor of a old house that has been converted into a half cafe/half shop selling random yet charming knickknacks or ‘Zakka.’ Here, you can find anything from handmade ceramics and clothing items, to craft chocolate and cooking sauces and more. Not to be missed though is their freshly baked English scones that is light, fluffy and perfectly buttery. Together with the freshly whipped clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam, each bite a complete delight. You can sit inside and enjoy the music or step out to relax in the garden. If you find their food on the menu, do not hesitate to order. They are 100% homemade and always taste amazing. They also have a great selection of tea and their shakes are to-die-for. Parking is available on site. Reservation is not necessary but I’d recommend to call and check to make sure that the scones are not sold out by the time you arrive!

If there’s a café that doesn’t just “serve desserts” but serves a feeling you keep coming back to Spoonful Zakka Café is definitely one of them. A tiny spot tucked away in a quiet alley, where stepping inside feels like visiting an old friend’s house. A small glass house with a Japanese soul, filled with charming little trinkets, art books, flowers in a vase, and soft sunlight, everything feels intentionally placed, but never forced. But what truly brings us back year after year is the scone. Their scone is comfort in its simplest form, slightly crisp on the outside, soft and dense on the inside, served with just enough homemade jam and cream to make your heart skip a beat. And maybe, it’s not just the scone. It’s that quiet bond with a taste that stays true no matter how trends change. And sometimes, all you need is a pot of tea and a quiet moment, and your heart begins to slow down. And then, you might realize that the best café isn’t always the newest or trendiest but the one that gives you the same warm feeling every time you walk in.

If there’s a café that doesn’t just “serve desserts” but serves a feeling you keep coming back to Spoonful Zakka Café is definitely one of them.
