Never did I expect to receive poor service in Thailand—a country renowned for its hospitality and the warmth of its people. Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant shattered my streak of positive encounters with the locals, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.

When we arrived around 9:30 PM, we were greeted and told it was almost last order. We asked if it was okay to proceed dining in, they confirmed it was.

We walked toward the back, where only a few people were seated. (Now, if they were closing soon, they shouldn’t have allowed us to enter in even in first place)

When it came to ordering, we asked the lady to recommend dishes, but she appeared irritated. We decided to go with her suggestions and ordered three dishes for the two of us. However, she insisted it wasn’t enough and encouraged us to order one more. Despite our doubts, we trusted her advice as tourists and complied, assuming the dishes were small in portion, even asking if desserts would be available later, to which she confirmed.

When the food arrived, the portions were enormous—clearly too much for two people. It became evident that we had over-ordered based on her misleading recommendations. Midway through the meal, we asked about our desserts, asking if we’d have enough time to have desserts since we asked for it to be served after our main courses since the restaurant was closing soon. A staff member assured us, “Take your time.”

However, midway eating, another staff member suddenly brought out the desserts and the payment terminal, and announced that we had only five minutes to finish everything. Confused and frustrated, we explained that we hadn’t finished our main courses yet and had planned to eat the desserts later. The response was rude and dismissive.

The attached photo shows the moment they demanded we finish all the food, including the desserts, within five minutes. Look at the picture (taken at 9:53PM), how could we possibly finish everything we were recommended to order in less than 30 minutes total, and what more that amount left in 5 minutes?!? How is that even humanly possible? This ordeal completely ruined our entire night—not to mention we couldn’t even enjoy what was supposedly delicious food!

The entire experience felt dishonest and disrespectful—far from the hospitality Thailand is known for.

This place is absolutely not recommended. The total bill came to an unnecessary THB 1,972. The issue isn’t the cost but the wastage of food due to their misleading advice and poor service.

Especially for trusting tourists like myself who value genuine service and integrity, this restaurant is...

In the bustling heart of Bangkok, where the city's pulse beats strongest, there's a dining oasis named Kub Kao' Kub Pla, nestled within the cosmopolitan embrace of Terminal 21 Asok. This venue became the chosen rendezvous for a heartwarming reunion with friends working in Thailand, thanks to its convenient location near the BTS station, making it an irresistible magnet for gatherings, especially among Bangkok families.

Kub Kao' Kub Pla distinguishes itself not just by its strategic location but through the artistry of its dishes, where each plate is a canvas of exquisite presentation and balanced flavors. With each dish priced around 200 Thai Baht, the restaurant presents an affordable luxury, where the essence of Thai homemade cuisine is elevated through a harmonious blend of creativity and meticulous plating. It's a place where traditional fare meets the innovation of contemporary cooking, offering a tantalizing taste experience that's both familiar and refreshingly novel.

The design philosophy of Kub Kao' Kub Pla's menu takes inspiration from the comforting realm of homemade Thai dishes. Yet, it ventures beyond the conventional, introducing a creative mix of ingredients that transform everyday meals into a showcase of culinary fusion and flavor. A significant use of vegetables accompanies the meals, reflecting the restaurant's greenery-laced decor and its strong pastoral vibe. This verdant approach not only beautifies the space but also speaks to the urban dweller's yearning for nature's touch amidst the concrete jungle. With a menu rich in photographs, selecting your meal becomes a breeze, inviting diners into a world of visual and gastronomic delight.

Vegetarians and health-conscious patrons will find Kub Kao' Kub Pla a haven, with an extensive selection of vegetarian dishes that promise both nourishment and indulgence. This emphasis on plant-based offerings aligns perfectly with the restaurant's green-themed ambiance, making every dining experience not just a feast for the palate but also a retreat...

Very bad customer service My husband and I went in for dinner today (Nov 1, 2025) and received the worst customer service. First of all, every staff member looked miserable - nobody smiled or talked nicely to us when we were smiling. Second, for some reasons, they bought out 1 bottle of water and 1 cup (2 of us were sitting there). Third, when we asked for one more cup, a female server glanced at us and just walked away. When I confronted her, she said "I just serve (food)." Another staff (maybe manager?) told me that she doesn't speak English. When someone is talking to you, at least acknowledge them and find someone to assist. Especially when they're your customer. However, the server just completely ignored us. This is basic manner and it doesn't matter whether you speak English or not.

Food A. Stir Fried wagyu with Thai basil: 5/10. Basil was not crispy and wagyu tasted fatty. Not worth it. Very mild flavor. B. Stir fried spicy wide noodles with pork in Yunnan style: 5/10. Noodles was overcooked and plain flavor as you can see from the photo. C. Spicy deep fried Thai rice and fermented pork sausage: 9/10. This was the only dish we liked. Nice flavor and good size. (Photo was taken after it was served but it's actually good size)

It's hard to believe that they charge 10% service charge, meaning they're supposed to be a "nicer" restaurant. There are sooo many other restaurants on this mall. Go to another place.
