🌟 The Golden Giraffe — Sukhumvit Soi 11’s Crown Jewel 🌟 Tucked into the electric pulse of Sukhumvit Soi 11, The Golden Giraffe is more than just a restaurant — it’s a full-blown experience. From the moment you walk in, the vibe hits you: sultry lighting, smooth live music, and a cocktail list that reads like poetry for the palate. The food? Bold, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you're diving into their signature mains or nibbling your way through small plates, every bite feels curated with care. And the cocktails — dangerously good. Think mixology with flair, not fluff. But what truly sets this place apart is the service, and TJ is the absolute star of the show. She’s the kind of waitress who makes you feel like you’ve just walked into your best friend’s living room — warm, attentive, and effortlessly charming. TJ checked in with perfect timing, offered spot-on recommendations, and somehow managed to keep the whole room smiling. If The Golden Giraffe had a heartbeat, TJ would be it. The live music adds that final layer of magic — never overpowering, always enhancing. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time in the best way possible. Whether you're out for a date, a celebration, or just a night to treat yourself, The Golden Giraffe delivers. And if TJ’s on shift, you’re in for something...
Read moreThe Golden Giraffe was formerly Apoteka (one of my all-time favorite bar/music venues), so I wanted to check out the place after the changes for old times sake. It was a Monday night, so it was really quiet, but it still had a good vibe. All the staff were super friendly, and there was a local trio playing a decent mix of easy listening music. They were taking requests from the few customers there, which added to the friendly vibe. I talked to one of the staff about weekends, and she said is gets really busy Friday-Sunday, sometimes on Thursday too. The layout is basically the same as the Apoteka days, but they have added what looked like an 8-foot pool table in the back. The felt looked a little weathered, so it's not for serious players. The pricing is a bit on the expensive side to be honest. We ordered two small bottles of Singha, and with tax and service charge (?) it was 421 Baht. For me, it's a bit too expensive to make it a regular haunt again especially since there are other less expensive options close by, but I'd definitely go again to catch a band I wanted to see on one of the busier nights just for a change of pace from the other end of Soi 11...
