Not so touristy as the others which seems to offer mainly exclusive seafood menu catered to the Chinese market. This restaurant is just 100 meter away from the infamous Walking Street. There is no air conditioning seatings. You will bypass the kitchen department when you go to the washrooms. Each corner of the restaurant is surprisingly immaculate clean, that is including the kitchen, the kitchen floor, the mens toilet, dining tables, the order-to make fruit juice station and the beverage fridge The food is also good quality. Ordered a coke, yellow curry prawns(very fresh, you could tell that the texture of the flesh and head was not mushy); a stir fry morning glory (an Asian green leaf veg which is crunchy; a mince pork fried beans with basil plus 2 portions of rice. The damage was 440 Thai Baht(CAD17.50). Taste was well above average. And the lady staff spoke good English, attentive and was not pushy on expensive dishes. Read moreI highly recommend dining at the 89 Thai restaurant in Patong Beach. My experience there was absolutely delightful, and I can't say enough good things about their cuisine.
For lunch, the fried rice with crab was a standout dish, and the spring rolls were superb. The tomyum shrimp soup was a flavor explosion that I won't soon forget.
For dinner, I savored the stir-fried chicken with cashews, which was cooked to perfection, and the glass noodle vegetable and seafood dish was a delightful surprise. To complement my meal, I enjoyed a Chang beer and a refreshing kiwi smoothie.
And don't forget to save room for dessert! The coconut ice cream and sticky rice were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

Read moreHighly recommended if you want a taste of some home cooked thai food at affordable prices. My friends and I (3 pax) ordered dishes for sharing and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. So much so that we went there twice in a row for our dinner.
I would highly recommend the Steamed Squid in Lemon sauce. The squid is fresh and tender. The sauce was amazing. It was simply savoury yet refreshing. It pairs well with rice.
I would recommend getting the seafood/Prawn pineapple fried rice and seafood/prawn Pad Thai. The prawns are huge, fresh and juicy. These also go well with another 1 or 2 dishes.
Their assortment of fruit smoothies are refreshing after a long day in the sun. And to end off the meal, a nice warm Mango Sticky Rice dessert is a must-try.
The staff is friendly and attentive to their customers. They are able to converse in basic English and prepare/serve the food...
